Good news for Karl Henry 08:39 - Mar 28 with 6117 views1BobbyHazell

The Tories are planning to tax Disabled Benefits and reduce eligibility for the Carers Allowance.

There you go Karl you talentless, ungrateful f*ck. Hopefully Stan knocks you out f-ing cold and in a beautiful twist of fate you are required needing a carer and benefits but find you're not allowed, your only solace being able to know that footballers can now buy 4 luxury cars a year instead of 3, that Starbucks/Amazon/Google etc can still pay little to no tax, that the Guaranteed Profits offered to private companies that took over OUR railways etc will continue to drain societies resources and cash even when their incompetence means they should experience a loss, that the banking and financial sector will continue to drive society deeper into debt with its control of the illusionary money system whilst handsomely paying its members for doing f**k all but moving numbers around a computer screen creaming off a percentage of all the Real Work being done in the world whilst contributing f**k all. etc etc etc

Deep breath

Love is the key

Tory policy since their inception - they are nothing if not consistent.

Worry not, I don't really, it's just a 'making my point rant', I'm not much into violence. I truly hope Karl Henry never experiences the sort of situation where he has to indignantly suffer physically, mentally and emotionally because he lives in a society where the rich (who have been getting richer for some considerable time now) still believe that they should have even more at the expense of those in genuine need and suffering.

Now I know how Bluce Ree felt on the driving thread.

Whenever the Tories change anything the Guardian scours the small print trying to find any possible way it could affect "the worse off" and starts screaming and shouting about it.

They never take into account whether something is affordable, whether more will benefit than lose out or what the long term implications are of sticking with the current system. There's no nuance, no debate just plain moral outrage.

Then mindless lefties lap it up and start a two minute hate against anyone who dares to give an opposite opinion (in this case Karl Henry). They literally hate him now and wish ill on him as you can see on this thread, purely for giving an opinion that is different to theirs.

Completely and utterly mental.

It's a bit dull for a footballer to be sticking his neck out and telling people to vote one way or another. As any debate on here shows very quickly, football fans are a diverse bunch politically.

The thing is that we choose to follow a sport of money motivated millionaires and their agents; it's hardly surprising that some of them are going to mistake their footballing talents for moral virtue. In any event it's not like Labour are going to change anything or even make life any less comfortable for the rich; they're just Tories in red rosettes.

Stupid for KH to comment. Even more revealing of his limited grasp of politics if he thinks Labour-lite (2015 version) is a real threat to his and other people's fortunes. Labour wouldn't know social justice and equality if it bit their backsides.

So because Karl Henry came from a council estate means that he has to vote Labour does it? Now that is what I call democracy. Karl Henry had a talent that he exploited to the best of his ability and achieved wealth as a result. He clearly feels that he has a choice and has obviously thought about it. You don't have to be privileged to vote Tory and equally you don't have to be poor to vote Labour. However what I find is that people are much more nasty and aggressive towards those who have centre right views than the other way round. Labour would love to keep the progression of the great unwashed down, that way they look like that they are the only party with their interests at heart. Whereas the Tories would like to see more from under-privileged backgrounds make something for themselves. And it stands to reason the more encouragement to improve their own lives means less reliance on the state and the funds can be concentrated towards those who really do need it the most.

One thing you have to say about 'new' labour is, not being born in to establishment wealth, their efforts to curry favour with the corporate elite for personal reward has been truly remarkable.

The latest sting on Jack Straw and his pleading justification of the merit of his actions is absolutely nauseating.

Don't always agree with you Paul, but, your snout in the trough analogy is spot on mate.

be fair PP !. Labour did leave us a note on good quality ,bonded water marked writing paper, saying the 'moneys run out' before going off for a massala dosa in islington and spraying their cleansing scents over white van man before the sun rose and the one true christian god burnt them like blood thirsty krug socialist nosferstu's

Well I'm the carer to my severely disabled (QPR loving) brother Jim and I must say some extra financial help would be welcome. But it's always been the same whoever has been in power, swings and roundabouts - they increase here and they cut there and you end end up pretty much in the same level of shit as before.I've just been denied Carer's Allowance since I get the State Pension( with a few top ups) and since it's the amount the government deems adequate to live on I can't get further money via CA( - I have what's called "Underlying Entitlement" which means since I serve more than 35 hours a week(I'm actually on call 24/7) I should really get something but that would be taking the piss son and we wouldn't get our private pensions paid innit.)Jim fortunately gets Disabled Living Allowance and we just about make ends meet, the electric bill is titanic since he's got an air-fed bed mattress and the like.If there's taxation to be endured we can usually "ponce" some more money off the noble taxpayers in other ways.Yes we are part of the "useless eaters" that Henry Kissinger so delightfully puts it.
Let's not get politically sniffy here, they're all as bad as each other.Labour seem to be dedicated to destroying the NHS here in Wales, but the level of care is still better than London - mainly the reason we moved. We are eternally grateful for whatever crumbs the state can throw us,we still live in a compassionate society in which many many generous and genuine people exist. We could easily be cast adrift and left to fend for ourselves and at my age and state of health that would be extremely difficult.
All I'm saying is please stop using emotive issues like this to feather the nest of your political choices. It's wrong and it's unworthy.

ps. Jim still thinks we'll stay up.

Cheers,

Gareth.

I'm afraid that's a bit laughable though E1Hoop. I'm not boosting Labour here, but to suggest that Osborne and the Tories have been anything but catastrophic for the UK's finances is well wide of the mark. They've presided over a debt tsunami and sold off a huge pile of what was left of the "family silver" as Lord Stockton famously described it. The Tories are coke-fuelled and corrupt; trust them with your money if you like, but don't get attached to the idea that we're anywhere but already in a deep ocean of financial sh*t.

That's an absolute spot on top posting.

Labour doesn't have a game plan at all when it comes to improving the lot of the underprivileged. It's all about sniding about public school education and 50% tax rates and spreading fear about preserving the inadequate status quo. Nothing serious about solving inequalities in opportunity or income.

The Tories have been shit, but they have reduced the deficit year on year. It went up pretty much every year under Labour and would have continued to do so if they had got back in.

The only way the Tories could have eliminated the deficit completely would have been with absolutely massive cuts, which I'm guessing you would have opposed.

Um, thanks for the lecture, but in fact I'm fully aware of the size of the debt, despite all of the 'massive' cuts made by those nasty Tories plus the 'even worse' ones that they might add on after the election if they are ever allowed to get into such a position, courtesy of our kindly Scottish brothers. The balance between austerity and common sense is always easier to make in hindsight. Karl Henry - if he had said that footballers were paid too much then I'd have more time for his sentiments about 'getting on' - as it stands he's not entirely wrong or right.
