I've got:-

Second Captains (sports)
Guardian Football Weekly
Over The Monster (Boston Red Sox)
Desert Island Discs
Danny Baker Show
and our own QPR Podcast

Will do.

Thanks for all the recommendations, folks. I started with Cinema Swirl, which is hugely enjoyable. Will move on to others as time permits. A bit all over the place right now so may take a while.

Thanks - there's a few on here I listen to and agree Hardcore History is astonishingly good. I'd also recommend:
Criminal - real life crime
99% Invisible - architecture and design
Smartest Man in the World - Greg Proops being funny and argumentative
New Yorker Radio Hour - magazine format very much like TAL and Radiolab

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

One I've recently started dipping in and out of is Lore, a podcast about folklore and tales of the supernatural. Sounds whack but surprisingly good

Also the New Economics Foundation's Weekly Economics podcast is very good, especially the early ones with James Meadway.

Oh and the Hogan Ephraim and Marcus Bean podcast, Two Pros In A Pod is much better than the name suggests!

Not a podcast but on You Tube if you search David Pocock Australian Story it's great programme.
About his life leaving Zimbabwe as a 13 year old after Land Grabs by Mugabe Government. and his rise to the top of his Sport.

Rugby is far from the focus so liking RU is far from a pre requisite.

Listened to the Mystery Show episode 'Belt Buckle' this morning. Possibly the best single podcast I've ever listened to...magic.

Football weekly & Football Ramble.
Also enjoy Mayo & Kermode film review.

Find QPR podcast a very difficult listen in all honesty. - carry on...

It's a little bit spooky that we all gravitate here and all seem to listen to much the same sort of stuff. I think it's fair to say that LFW is not representative of the population.

Try the Parapod. The ParaPod is a weekly podcast of all things supernatural and mysterious, hosted by Ray Peacock (voice of reason) and Barry Dodds (gullible believer). Possibly the fumiest thing I have ever listened to. It's just finished it's second series and is well worth listening to the lot.

Just stumbled across another one.
The Dollop has one guy reading a bizarre story from American history, and his mate chipping in. I'm surprised I haven't come across it before, there are hundreds of them, and the ones I have heard so far are weird, shocking and very funny.

For a flavour, try 160 Fedex Flight 705 or 142 Richard Johnson: A Terrible Vice President

Richard Herrings Leicester Square Theatre podcast (RHLSTP).

so many brilliant interviews of some really interesting funny people. So far removed from his own stand up that it works so well.

Never knowingly understood
