Outrageous. At least 25 blokes willing to testify against him. CPS say there is enough evidence to warrant a charge, but his memory has gone so he's ok.
I wonder how many of his friends helped him out on that one. Some possibly worried he'd implicate them.
Problem is you can't prosecute someone with clinically diagnosed dementia. He's 86 with it so even his defence team wouldn't be able to act on his behalf either. You can't examine or cross examine him.
The problem is not the CPS it is the years of protection this man got from the powers that be when something should have been done.
There are far too many morally bankrupt people at the top of the chain running this country. Sadly it is the same around the world.

OK, Bosh. I see what you're saying but surely there must be some way a prosecution can take place.
If someone committed a terrible crime that was witnessed by a lot of people wouldn't they be arrested and prosecuted regardless of mental state? Ok, they may end up in a secure hospital, but it would seem odd for that person to be sitting at home instead of being under some sort of house arrest.
There have obviously been cover-ups over the years which is a tragic state of affairs for the victims. However, those that picked on and abused the most vulnerable in society should not be allowed to live out their lives in comfort.

The CPS admitted it made “mistakes” and Janner should have been prosecuted earlier.
The CPS said: “In relation to the other three previous investigations, the CPS also now considers that the evidential test was passed. “It follows that the CPS judges that mistakes were made in the decision-making at the time by both the Leicestershire police in 2002 and the CPS in 1991 and 2007. “Lord Janner should have been prosecuted in relation to those complaints.”
Seems like the CPS is at fault. They also need a complete overhaul, they are always fcking up and taking too long.

Funny that his dementia is so bad that he can't face trial but his dementia isn't so bad that he can't take his seat in the House of Lords and make decisions on important issues about our country?

Anyone listen to Nick Ferrari this morning and that ex-copper?
Huge cover up from the top in the 70's.
Oh yeah, you can imagine that those investigations were put to bed via a couple of discreet conversations between some old chaps at one of their Lodge meetings.
3 attempts to prosecute him and when third time around it looks like there is a case to answer they roll out the dementia card.

There seems to have been a lot of wronguns around in those days and they look like they all covered for each other. Unfortunately most of them won't face the justice they deserve.

Makes you sick.
Yeah they had tons of evidence some talked when rounded up and they were told to drop it promptly from very high up. The fella on this morning broke the official secrets act to mention it.

From Sky News, ‘Prosecutors also admitted they and the police had made mistakes in the past in relation to Lord Janner’s case, and that there had been enough evidence to prosecute him more than 20 years ago.’ & wait for it, here come the excuses…. ‘The CPS also admitted “mistakes” had been made in relation to three previous investigations into Lord Janner between 1991 and 2007, and there had been enough evidence to prosecute him earlier.’
Funny that. They really must think we're all complete idiots.

Ah the old 'mistakes' excuse, about as believable as the 'files appear to have gone missing' line so often trotted out in these cover up scenarios. If we had any real journalists left (see the Bradford Fire fella) they would be investigating who made those key 'mistakes' back then and seeing who they were connected to. The trails are usually fairly obvious.
The Secret Handshakers in the CPS would have played their part in the deliberate cover up just as much as high up coppers.
Unfortunately I imagine it is still all going on today.

Oh I agree, I should have put 'real journalists left in the mainstream media'. I know there's the odd one but the majority of news seems to be lazy slight rewording of organisations' press releases. Or 'Here's who to hate/blame this week'.

Disgraceful. Anyone remember Saunders from the Guinness trail in the 90’s? The only person known in medical history to recover from Alzheimers shortly after his prison sentence was cut short because of it. There are two legal systems that operate in this country: one for the rich and connected, and the other for the rest of us.

Wikipedia on Ernest of that name puts it succinctly:
He was sentenced to five years' imprisonment, but released after 10 months as he was believed to be suffering from Alzheimer's disease, which is incurable. He subsequently made a full recovery

I was about to mention that. We all knew it was bollox but what can you do ? The big difference is that he was a rich man who defrauded a big company and made himself even richer. In this Janner case, children were subjected to violent sexual abuse and torture. If you tolerate this YOUR children will be next.

Apparently a couple of the poor kids even lost their lives during some of the abuse. Two retired officers from the MET that I know were talking to me about this today. Obviously, it's not news but they said that at the time any investigations into this abuse were soon closed down. They said that when the names uncovered during an investigation are judges and senior police officers, it was almost impossible to move forward with a case.
I'm amazed that this scumbag will live out his days in peace and quiet in his country mansion.
