Not normally one to moan but that first twenty minutes cost is the game, started so lethargic no atmosphere from Crowd just gave West Ham something to hold onto

Baffling why nothing was done to give us an option on the left second half, will take a good argument to convince me Ramsey is upto this challenge, seemed clueless today

We needed Henry on the pitch Dave, he's due a goal.

The first 25 minutes defined us. West Ham walked about and got 5 corners. Sandro had a shot and that was it from us until the penalty, which almost came out the blue.

We had to get out of the traps quickly and get at them and sadly, we just didn't - and against opponents who seemed to want to avoid injury before their summer holiday.

Ti be fair West ham were very good at the back today but we didn't have any urgency all game and that is why, sadly, the crowd found it hard to get behind them, because they didn't do much to show they had the belief to get result today and the crowd virtually gave up hope.

Never knowingly right.

we had 2 1/2 attacking players out of the 11, we were totally unable to build up play down the left or use space, effectively. Poor Phillips kept receiving the ball on the half way line, Zamora could barely move, Charlie was having a right off day and only Joey would offer any type of out ball. 7 "destroyers" 1 cripple and then the manager loads the rest of the team is not chipping in enough with 2 attacking full backs, 2 playmakers, an attacking midfielder and Shaun Wright Phillips on the bench. The first sub is to replace the left back. The second sub is to pull of the cripple forward and replace with the attacking midfielder. Total insanity! Got what we deserved

only used 2 subs as well ?

a must win game and he had options

taarabt had to be used if anyone could make something happen surely it would be him

swp on left wing at least a bit of pace

kranjar might have found a pass in final 15 mins as west ham midfield tired

Listen to the band play!

If you're not a couple of goals down by the first 20 minutes then I don't really see how they define the game as such. The problem today wasn't Ramsey starting us conservatively - that was understandable - but being unable or unwilling to alter the shape of the game after that.

It's only been against Villa second half - Ramsey's most impressive moment by far - where that hasn't been par for the course, and by his own admission he needed to be coaxed into it by Kevin Bond of all people. He certainly hasn't been dealt the best hand, but he isn't playing it with much nous either. This is why I cannot go along with hopeful, sentimental suggestions that he can be the progressive manager we need to rebuild us moving forward.

Look at the squad, look at the subs bench. The only players that could have bettered the team, Ramsey brought on. We are not good enough because we are not good enough, not because Ramsey is making the wrong decisions

Really? He only used 2 subs and ignored all creative options in a game we simply had to win. He has 1 point at home since he took over. Lovely bloke but the kudos he's getting is unjustified and frankly embarrassing.

You're going on about Adel right? He would have wanted to occupy exactly the same space as Fer and I for one would rather see Fer get a run of games in the position he is meant to play in. He wouldn't have stayed on the wing if he was brought on to replace Henry, and he certainly wouldn't have provided any cover for Hill and then Yun.

I don't know about the first 25 minutes. To me, it was the last 25 minutes that defined us. Once again, the substitutes were left on the bench as we went down in flames. What he hell was Ramsey waiting for. He brought on a defender and then Fer, both back from injury, and then that was it. At the stage when we should have been throwing everything forward, we were still playing with 7 defensive players.

We needed Henry on the field? Why?? We had Sandro and Barton clogging up the middle. West Ham never looked up to much. What earthly reason was there to keep Henry on the left with 30 minutes to go? True, Adel/Zarate/Hoilett may not have proved themselves to be the greatest players on earth, but Hoilett is always lively when brought on with 20 minutes to go, Adel will certainly head for goal, and Zarate, well who the hell knows as he has never been given a chance. At least they would be going for goal and have a lot to prove. Why on east leave us in a defensive formation as the game slips away?

Baffling is the right word - he picked 4 center backs + 2 ultra defensive midfielders for a game that we had to win - as if he was going for 1 point. All the same old experienced players - trouble is they are experienced at losing. It looked as if he let Kevin Bond pick the team - same old HR cr*p. We played route one football that played into WH's hands and they are probably the worst team in the division at the moment. He then makes a game changing substitution to switch Yun for Hill - clueless. Then takes off Zamoura and we just continued to hoof it up. A month ago, he introduced some young players into the squad and things looked better but now not one of them is even on the bench. Even SWP was on the bench - a player who completely has lost his appetite for playing.
Having said all of that - never want to see that referee again - Dunne's goal was good and if a QPR player had handballed like Collins did - he would have been red-carded - not even a yellow.
Maybe now, with Hull (thanks Palace),Leicester winning and Sunderland getting a point, relegation is a virtual certainty, they can relax and start playing some football.

He had 3 attacking options on the bench and also had Isla to come on and push Ned into the middle and Caulker up front, he did nothing

It's funny that you should mention the first 25 minutes. As the first half wore on I was thinking 'it must be about half-time' and had a look at the clock - only 29 minutes had passed.

Good opening post title - that word sums up our season IMO.

One
We are a poor side - lets be honest but there are teams this season in this division who are just as bad or if not worse and we had a great chance of staying up and looking ahead to next season.

Two
We waited too long before getting shot of HR - it was bloody obvious to everyone he did not want to be our Manager and we got shafted by him big time just like the Remy saga.

Three
We then appoint CR to the role - now I am not going to slag the man off because I think he is a good man, a talented coach to the younger players who should have a long term future at the club - but not as our manager. Some awful team selections and Saturday for me was the final straw.

Four
We have given away so many points during the season and when these are added up would have put us comfortably safe from the drop.

Five
As a team we are simply unable to play well on a consistent basis, it is either a good first half or second half, a good all round team performance against Chelsea followed by a poor performance against a sh1t West Ham side.

Penalties
I agree totally with people on another post that Charlie has been fantastic this season and the best players miss penalties. However, if you take a look at his penalties prior to his first miss against Hull they were all placed in the corner and his scoring record was excellent. The Hull keeper guessed the right way, it happens and it was a bit to close to him as well so he made the save. Since that miss every pen he has taken was smashed as hard as he could down the middle. Now you can get away with that now and again but it really is too predictable. Surly as a coach you would be picking up on these things and working on the training pitch to give options.

Six
We have had some bad luck with injury's and these have come at a bad time for us. Our depth of squad is clearly not good enough. It is frustrating to have players who can make a difference so apathetic and not wanting to play. SWP is hopeless we all know that but if asked he will always do his best (albeit his best is awful) that cannot be said for some other players.

Finally . . Saturdays result along with Hull winning was the end of our dream I am sorry to say and we are in for a long hard road back - not sure if we, as a club have it in us.

i thought it was end to end...there we go, different view points?
austin never missed a penalty, it was SAVED, it was on target
NO ONE MENTIONS THE ENCROACHMENT, how many west ham in box before adrian saves?? so a re-take!
disallowed goal...should have stood
adrian made 3-4 top saves...there we go, sums us up.
we were ferked long before this so, look at dire games around xmas and look at the dramatic loss of home form.

Deep down we all knew Ramsey wouldn't keep us up. He never addressed our main problem of conceding goals. First thing Pulis did at West Brom was to stop them leaking goals.

Players are always commenting on his great coaching ability. He is too soft to be a successful manager. There is a reason why Levi turned to Sherwood instead of Ramsey.
