Planning for next season needs to start now 17:42 - May 2 with 3038 viewsMarc

Assuming it hasnt already

New manager to be in place by the time the whistle is blown at 90 minutes in the final game of the season.

A list of targets drawn up.

Those that wish to leave, have deals lined up ready for them to go.

And most importantly, TF - is he staying, going, stepping aside etc

All sounds so simple but if we drag our heels then next season will be yet more misery and pain.

Could not agree more and the first place to start is for the club to demand the FL make it clear what they intend to do. This FFP thing has to be sorted out before any other planning is possible

The dreaded G word

Lets hope we're not hearing that 10 games into next season

There's just one catch.....we don't have a chief executive.

Also we have a novice DOF.

It is clear that the owners decided around Christmas not to put another penny into the club. So the parachute money will probably go towards the FFP fine.

FFP fine will be negotiated to about £25m

Liverpool will sell Sterling for £80m+ - we will get £20m+ from that
Charlie will (if he is sensible) move on to a top end PL club £10m
Fer will move on £8m
Sandro will move on £7m
Adel will move on £2m
Caulker will move on £4m
Phillips will move on £6m
Green will move on £1m

That's £56m in and £25m out.
So £31m on the plus sheet possibly in if Sterling goes to real madrid as planned and our fine is £25m.

Plus the parachute payment. So I reckon we will be up +£50m come next season. That has to be spent on a proper U21 conveyor belt of players, a proper religious fast attacking and solid playing style that is coached into every player and a proper wage cap. We have to become sustainable for once.

Never knowingly right.

doubt they will get £50m for him

Charlie will (if he is sensible) move on to a top end PL club £10m
£10m is probably the very most we will get. maybe settle for £8m

Fer will move on £8m
stoke will offer £5m for him, and he will leave for that

Sandro will move on £7m
who on earth will pay that much for a player who was last fit in the noughties?

Adel will move on £2m
i think adel will still be with us next season. he has burned all candles to the end.
most likely to go on loan if anything

Caulker will move on £4m
possibly to leicester or west brom for that amount

Phillips will move on £6m
would prefer he stays with us next season.
doubt we see £6m for him

Green will move on £1m
to chelsea.

not looking to diss you bosh, but clubs will know our financial position and will use that as a stick to beat us with. would prefer to be in a position where we don't sell so many existing first team players as it takes so long for players to gel (sorry), and given our history of pre-seasons, it will be christmas before the defence start communicating having shipped an average of 4 goals a game.

It's not what you've got; it's where you stick it.

Liverpool will sell Sterling for £80m+ - we will get £20m+ from that WILL STAY AT LIVERPOOL he aint that good = £0

Charlie will (if he is sensible) move on to a top end PL club £10m = £6-8 million
Fer will move on £8m =£5 mill
Sandro will move on £7m stay or released to get off wage bill =£0
Adel will move on £2m stay or free release to get away from club =£0
Caulker will move on £4m might get a promoted team to fall for it like we did =£4
Phillips will move on £6m id want £8mill or he stays he has started to really shine
Green will move on £1m free just to get off wage bill

so that's £15-17 million plus phillips and stirling in a few years

Listen to the band play!

You cannot sell players if nobody wants to buy.

There will, no doubt, be takers for Austin and, after his form since February, Matty Phillips. I suspect Fer may have a few takers, as well - despite his recent injury.

As to the rest they represent possibles rather than probables. Who wants a centre back who has been relegated 2 years running (Caulker)? Who wants a keeper that is prone to an error virtually every game. Who wants a Brazilian midfielder who is injured more often than he is fit. Who wants a moody Moroccan that thinks he should be playing for Barca or Inter?

I can see us left with McCarthy; Onouha, Dunne, Yun, an injured Robinson; Hoillet, Traore, Faurlin (if fit), Diakite and Taraabt. Plus a load of youngsters. The youngsters could include Ehmer, Doughty and Petrasso - if any of them are good enough for the Championship, rather than L1.

At the moment, I would say, the prosepcts do not look that good.

True, unlike a couple of seasons recently where this hasn't happened.

No more situations like losing Remy at the last minute with no replacement please.

I don't quite understand why we'll be fined 25 million, I just don't see how the football league will be able to win that case when the idea of ffp is supposed to be not to put debt onto clubs and the club wrote off 60million of debt so basically we've done what they wanted just not in the way they wanted.

It'll be the same as it always is. We'll go somewhere like Bognor for pre season and the new kit wont be in the shops till October or November. Players won't be fit, any midweek away game up north will be a defeat and we'll go out of both cups in the first round.

Wish I had your enthusiasm but I can't see us getting anywhere near those sums for our players. The biggest slap in the face will be Austin leaving for nothing when compared to other goalscoring English players.

We are SHÍT at getting market value for our players we sell and SHÎT at spending market value on the players we get.

To sum up, in general, we are SHÃŽT and needs lots changes at all levels of the club. Again.
