So after all that...a week or so on from the Debacle at the Cottage..."matchday10" results all in and we find ourselves still 3 points north of them

Just sayin'

Which makes the performance and result against them all the more galling.

God it's been so good reading all the coverage today and seeing the goals. Chery and Jet were like a two man Taarabt tribute act yesterday. And Jet also defended. (Glad someone did)

It's the Championship.

4-1 at relegated Scunny in the Warnock promotion season. Not saying we're gonna win the League again - just that it's just the ultimate unpredictable division

Think the big one will be Brentford away. They are in poor form, not a great team, and near relegation. If we can get a good result there, maybe it shows Fulham was just a blip, if we get another thumping, a pattern will start to show

Bees is pretty ominous. Friday night in front of cameras; their cup final, given the feelings they have about us; local derby; expectant travelling support; their poor form and a manager who doesnt want the job; our appalling record against London sides of recent times. Not sure you need any more pointers to a defeat for us. It has the feel of when we played Chelsea on the return to the Prem under NW.

However, it isnt unreasonable to expect the team to at least make the effort to turn up and compete... and tackle!

Exactly. As stated at the time, Fulham are no world beaters (despite the orgasmic description of them on the night by the Sky commentators). But if you give any side at our level the kind of time and space we gave Fulham then they will make you pay. Yesterday wasn't all that different; Bolton clearly a poor side, particularly defensively, yet we give them so much freedom and they take advantage and score twice. Ramsey needs to get across to the players that it's not just about passing the ball about, you must work hard and match the oppositions work rate, close down players and space, bust a gut to stop crosses coming in and block shots, pick up runners from midfield and concentrate on sticking with the player you are marking. It's hard work, and every player has to be prepared to do it. Teams are not going to just roll over for you.

It's just the Championship - whilst there's no excuse for the perfromance we put in against Fulham, this league will throw up anomolies all season. Unfancied teams will beat the 'favourites' and vice versa, it's just a maul in this league - hence the fun!
