i see whatshisface has just been given a vote of confidence

Chelsea have released a statement giving their backing to manager Jose Mourinho...

"The club wants to make it clear that Jose continues to have our full support," it says.

"As Jose has said himself, results have not been good enough and the team's performances must improve. However, we believe that we have the right manager to turn this season around and that he has the squad with which to do it."

It's not what you've got; it's where you stick it.

Rumour is he's due £70m if he's sacked. No wonder he was practically willing Abramovich to sack him after the last game.

For that to be true, he would have to have no break clause in his new contract, which he will have, and to be earning the thick end of £350k a week, which clearly he isn't.

You could be right, but how much is he actually on?

It says here he was the best paid manager in the world earning double the second best paid:

And since then he's signed a new contract for 4 years after winning the league easily so could have got a pay rise since.

'The Chelsea board would like to place on record our unswerving confidence in whatever it is that Saint Jose of Mourinho has deemed necessary to undertake in order to further our glorious cause and spread the club's message of peace, love, equality and goodwill to humanity. We respect the FA's decision but will be taking our ball and going home if they don't change their minds'.

If Chelsea want to avoid the pay off am sure Abramovich has some contacts with a supply of polonium.
