Interestingly for me as a Northern supporter I actually had to watch the Hillsbrough game on the beamback at Loftus Rd as I had to attend a family party that weekend - that was a slightly surreal experience with people running onto the pitch after the game. I regret very much not being at Hillsbrough that day.

I remember the Milk cup tie at Chelsea and the Robinson goal, a great night but like any visit to Chelsea in the early 80s, always lively trying to get home in one piece. Especially heading back to Tooting on the 49 bus that was always packed with Chelsea supporters - had to look glum that night.

Most of my best memories are during the Holloway rebuilding era.

Tranmere - goaless draw, battered for much of the game, Lee Camp in great form, ten man and I think a missed penalty. I also think Holloway may have been sent off.

Hartlepool - won 4-1. Furlong in great from that afternoon

Mansfield won 4-1 - at that time a mate of mine worked for Nationwide and got some complimentary tickets, I took my two girls, pitched up at the ground, got a surprised look from the security guard and then got taken up to the Boardroom where we had pre match drinks and sandwiches and a light buffet at half time. They were perfect hosts and quickly worked out we were QPR fans. We sat in the Boardroom and were able to celebrate safely with the other directors as the goals went in. To rub salt in the wounds they ran a pick the correct score card - asked me if I wanted to take part as an afterthought and there was only one result still available - no prizes for guessing what that was - I cleaned up.

Great memories

I enjoyed Liverpool when we won 3-1
Blackpool FA Cup 5th round away - just for the big weekend - I think we drew 2-2 and then drew 0-0 at home before winning the replay 3-0
Leeds when Wegerle scored the wonder goal and we won 3-2
any away game we won or at least gave everything we had
I also enjoyed some great games like when we played Spurs back in 83-84 under Venables and lost 3-2 but it was a free flowing exciting game and fantastic atmosphere with over 38,000 (I think) that I still remember today over 30 years later

Showing my age but Villa Away in 67 takes the biscuit. Only a kid, first ever away game, last game of the season, win gets us promoted to the old Division 1 for the first time in the clubs history. The M1 a sea of blue and white all the way. QPR fill the Holte end (unbelievable but true) go one down and then turn it round to win 2-1 with an own goal winner in the last ten minutes! Away games can only go downhill after that!

The 3-1 win at Arsenal When Jensen Scored . New years eve , and as was my artistic bent at the time , i was exploring the gates of perception on a cocktail of Ecstasy, Amphetamine, LSD and Trumpet. I didnt even feel the iron bar over the back of my head , delivered with aplomb by two Arsenal terrace dandys when i celebrated lke bez with his marraca's st vitus dance style, when we scored goal number 3 in their home end.

I certainly felt it the next day though. twas a cracker.

Were you at the Dell on the August bank holiday in 1983 when it had just been revealed in the papers that Peter Shilton had been caught playing away in the back of his car? Cracking pîss take that day.

No, DW. I was too young. Man, it's rare that I get the chance to say that anymore!!!

Doncaster away in the promotion season , inflatables everywhere , great singing, and a good drink up

Brentford , Bircham Winner, Pitch Invasion , open terrace rangers everywhere that day, we were in the Braemer stand that day with a load of other rangers and went mental

Arsenal 1990 cup game, must have been around 10k Rangers there that day all packed in the clock end , I really thought in my silly mind that our name was on the cup after seeing all the QPR there , I was 15 and p1ssed on special brew that day , would have loved it even more if paulparker had put that header away in the last minute , still we wouldn't of had the Kenny sansom moment

non rangers would be Fulham vs Hayes in the cup 91, Hayes had about 2k there on a Friday night , went with 6 others and again was out of it on wacky baccy and bottles of becks , at the end I managed to scale the fence and get on the pitch,

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Winning at Chelsea when we hadn't won away for 392 games was pretty sweet, 3-1 at Highbury when Jonny Jenson scored stands out and then that beautiful day out at Hillsborough and the celebrations late in to the night.

If not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled. PG Wodehouse

Was lucky enough to be at the Old Trafford massacre having tied it in with clubbing in Manc on NYE (one of Justin Robertson & Greg Fenton's nights for Frankie thread fans)

As has been mentioned, there were several great awaydays at unlikely venues in the Olly era (Hartlepool, Mansfield, Chesterfield...and I really enjoyed a week night cup win at Bramall Lane)

Having been married into a family of mad geordies for many years, that 2-1 at St James's when Wilkins dictated the game, Les & Bradley scored, and Jan saved an injury time pen was especially sweet (the day Keegan decided to sign Les)

Never had a bad awayday at Southampton

There has been loads. It's always a bit hard to define a good away day but a decent result always helps. Recently West Brom was a giggle. Plymouth away the first time on the train when Paquette scored the winner and Bircham got emotional. One that stands out for the sheer volume of drink consumed was the last time we played at Wigan. I remember waiting for the train in a pub where they were playing Northern Soul and dancing (thinking i am at Wigan Casino) while holding onto a plastic bag containig my drinks for the train. After this we walked down onto the platform and shortly afterwards the team arrived only to be greeted by a chorus of we're Queens Park Ranger we'll win when we want. You couldn't make it up.

Cardiff away Langley late winner already been mentioned.
From the same season, Brentford away with Bircham's goal and Blackpool away Langley hat-tricks were also great days out.
Other games from the Holloway era, I loved Sunderland away when Furlong & Rowlands scored. Hillsborough obviously. Wrexham away when Bean scored. 1-0 at Grimsby away when Sabin scored his one and only goal. Scoring 4 at Mansfield was great too.
Saw us win away at Spurs when (I think) Sinclair & Ferdinand scored. That was a great day, giving Spurs fans loads of grief. (was it last game of the season?)
going back a lot further Coventry away when Impey scored and we went top of the league.

Hillsborough. Easily. Possibly even including Wembley. We'd been through so much shit and were finally on our way back with a team and club to be proud of.

Does anyone know the R's fan that got flattened by some Sheff Wednesday thug while he was celebrating in the goal after the game?

Poor chap was out cold for a little while. Cheap shot it was!

Dont know why we bother. .... but we do!

Anyone go to the 0-3 at Blackpool in the temporary stand with no roof and pissing rain? Tuesday evening KO.

We'd just been stitched up over the Gorks transfer because Paliadini fvcked some paperwork up.

No, but my sister got hit by a coin thrown from the home end. Even that couldn't spoil the day.

Not 100% sure but I think it was Mark who used to write the match reports on here with me . He still sits behind me so I'll ask on Saturday.

As for best away day - Middlesbrough in the promotion season stands out, coming back on the same train as the players with them all singing and posing for pics and chatting with us. Southampton in the Prem where LFW basically turned a whole carriage of the stopping train into a free bar and disco.

Were you at the Dell on the August bank holiday in 1983 when it had just been revealed in the papers that Peter Shilton had been caught playing away in the back of his car? Cracking pîss take that day.

I was at that game, I remember hearing on a police radio we had 4K there and it was packed and fckin hot - proper old ground the dell. Think we started the 83-84 season with two away games. Weren't we abusing him about Tina or was that another year

Some of my best Aways....

81-82 Charlton 2-1 Burridges penalty save and Chelsea losing 6-0 to Rotherham.

82-83 Cambridge Utd 4-1 Rangers everywhere and Clive Allen's overhead kick.

82-83 Charlton 3-1 By far there biggest crowd of the season probably 50% R's, watching Rangers chasing them around the East terrace. Getting them offside about a 1000 times and Rick Everitt (I think) slating us in the Greenwich Mercury with the most bitter match report I've ever written probably cos his far cooler brother is Rangers ;-) (That could have been after the 0-0 with Millwall in 87-88 to be fair)

82-83 Scum 2-0 even Sealy scored. Good support up there and only 20K at the bridge (lest we forget our average crowd was bigger than theirs in 82-83) - the scum on there way down to Division 3 - their was stuff in the scum program about how the next season would be very tough with us and the fools (Nice one Derby ) going up. I thought it would always be like that :-(

82-83 Grimsby Town - The longest special train I've ever seen, Invading the seats and mad weather

83-84 Man U 1-3 OK we lost but me and my mate procured 3 bottles of Olde English for the journey and somehow got it on the special train. Was the first R's game I saw in the top division and we deserved a draw - missed a couple of sitters at 1-2 but despite losing knew we'd be alright that year.

83-84 Wolves 4-0. 2 of us went on a service train and arrived about 11 for some unknown reason, spent the morning avoiding loads of little mobs in the town centre. Ended up back near the station cornered by a few Wolves intent on nicking our Pringles luckily Rangers turned up at that moment and they disappeared. was somewhat relieved ! Was a great performance and revenge for the previous years 4-0 tonking in the snow which I went to with flu plus Alan Mcdonald made his debut

83-84 Ipswich 2-0 - Great support, the first rendition of the slowed down 'Oh when the R's go marching in' which even got mentioned in the next home program. Plus mercilessly abusing the poseur in the pink Mariner (when he gets the ball he does fck all) the whole game.

83-84 Norwich 3-0 - Really good support again. Loads of Rangers casuals standing on the barriers starting the Ooh aar oooh aaar Oh to be a Londoner chant with the one men went to mow action lol - I wish we still did that it sounded good.

83-84 (erm I think their's a pattern here !) Arsenal 2-0 - OK Highbury but not the SF. I can still vividly see Ian Stewarts second goal curling round Pat Jennings at the clock end and everyone just going totally mental. Oh and some Rangers took the North Bank (for a while anyway ;-))

84-85 Ipswich 0-0 LCup QF Jan 85 - Was much anticipated and I think it got called off at least once because of the weather. We took a good few thousand up there and got the middle section of terrace as well as the normal right hand side. The acoustics at Ipswich in that away end were brilliant and the atmosphere started from about 2 hours before KO. Rangers were everywhere around the ground waving to each other and their was a mass pitch invasion at the end.

85-85 Watford 1-0 League cup. Top atmosphere and Barrons penalty save.
85-86 Scum LCQF 2-0 Just amazing when Robinson scored
85-86 Liverpool 2-2 LC SF - Unbelivable even now :-)

87-88 Soton 1-0 - Seriously good support, Kevin Brocks free kick and top of the league

2007-2008 Charlton 1-0 For personal reasons always love to beat them. I think we missed a penalty or they did We went utterly mental when we scored- everyone piling down the front - was out of breath for about 5 minutes lol.

Since then maybe Wigan away in the play off semi. Oh and honourable mentions to Donny away in 13-14 and Newcastle last year for the sunsets ;-)

One of my mates managed to get himself thrown out twice that night at the cottage for the Hayes game.

Got thrown out of the away end, went back in the home end, only for the copper who'd thrown him out to recognise him and throw him out again

He only found out the result while sat in the Tumbler (now that was a hole)

Most of my favorites already been mentioned but would add these few just for being brilliant days

Southampton away 1995, lost 2-1 but was the skidmarks on your knickers day that will never be forgotten

Cardiff and Derby away in the promotion year under Warnock

Hartlepool away in promotion year under Holloway. Was my wifes birthday and had a great weekend away, brilliant pub before and after the game where they hung QPR scarfs behind the bar and the beer was flowing. The deckchair game at half time and we won 4-1

Coventry away around in 1995, down to 10 men and won 1-0, was a great turn out of QPR fans and have a vague memory of singing abuse to Ron Atkinson for most of the second half

Everton away when Tommy Smith got the winner.

Going back years a 3-0 win at West Ham when Paul Parker made his debut
