Think this probably explains the previous pressures on our owners on their loans against the shares of Air Asia. To be honest it might actually be a good time to buy Air Asia shares as the negatives are priced in. The business model, aside from the long haul trial, is generally a proven one that does generate cash over the long term.

It does appear to make the decision to write off the Debt an even more generous gesture by the club. But also does underline their change of priority to get promoted back to Premiership as clearly the Tune Group cant keep pishing away money through QPR like it has.

The broken part may well be covered by ADD but the crew disabled the autopilot and took control. The crash was caused by their incompetence.
Or that's how I've read it. I hope there's an aeronautical engineer among you who can put a more positive spin on it otherwise.............

"The report also said that:
Inadequacies in the maintenance system led to "unresolved repetitive faults occurring with shorter intervals"
There appeared to be miscommunication between the pilot and co-pilot - at one point, the pilot commanded "pull down" but the plane was ascending
At another point, the two men appeared to be pushing their controls in opposite directions"

Think its best to give Air Asia a swerve if the situation ever arises to fly on one of their planes...

Same thing happened in the Air France flight that crashed in the atlantic.

Night time in poor weather so no visual horizon, software error caused in that case by pitot tube freezing, pilot with a malfunctioning computer horizon instinctively pulls up and plane stalled. The co-pilot in that case was pushing down to recover the stall, but the other pilot was still pulling back to climb.

Sounds like something similar has happened in the AA cockpit with the captain returning to his seat and finding the plane stalled and a co pilot still pulling back on the stick due to spatial disorientation.

Questions must surely be asked also why the control system on a fly-by-wire plane was allowed to malfunction intermittently for 12 months without being replaced, despite the great cost.

Mechanical AND human error then. To paraphrase former poseter Rodney'sGonger, oh dear.

You normally hear about one or the other but that has got to have Tony sweating. I'd guess the human error response to the mechanical failure will be more of the focus but still. Really worrying times for him.
