why so many police today?? 09:01 - Feb 7 with 4778 viewsthemodfather

as i went down SAR dozens of horses preparing by tesco's...i was thinking is this a rehearsal for the "charge of the light brigade"???
lots of police down the road but after the game, the whole SAR was lined up the middle by police, for ipswich??
they don't do this for millwall....i asked a police sgt but he wouldn't reply, overtime maybe.....2 horses parked outside the front doors of the bok too....so we had to use a side door.

They were being prepared in case the farmers wanted revenge for when we went on the riot up at there place in the cup. They got long memories those tractor boys.

There's been many instances of trouble between us and Ipswich.

They were there to stop the heated arguments between the rival fans about who hates Naarwich more.

I guess it must be about overtime pay. No logic involved. I remember the last time we played Plymouth at home, big police presence. I was thinking, what the fukc is this all about.

There have be a few, but I was surprised by the Police presence, I guess they might have had some information.

Fair play to the Ipswich fans they did travel down in numbers and made a a bit of noise in contrast to Boxing Day at theirs when they only made a noise when they scored at the death. There seemed to be a few around who'd had a cider or three and lots of inflatables, etc. so perhaps they all got excited about a big day out in the smoke?

That said if they make the play-offs then this league is worse than I thought - Ipswich are bang average.

Manning Tree is still quite recent and I think the fact this was one of the few times this season both tiers given, taken and sold out kick started the level of OB about.

I'd imagine next Saturday will be just the same!!!

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Erm, I can't talk for other loose gatherings of Rangers fans, but myself and my associates first experienced dialogue resulting in uncouth behavior with Manningtree in 1975. My guess would be they've been a persistent irritant since the Germans forced relocation upon their east London fathers.

Reckon it will be even worse for the Fulham game, I went and watched Brentford play at Fulham last year and 75% of London's police were out on horses kettling a few 15 year olds from Hounslow and a lot of men in red chinos into escorts from about two miles away

Kerching

I was pleased there were plenty of police around as I looked up whilst crossing the road on hearing the baying tractor boys outside the ground before kick off and promptly went arse over tit on the high kerb near the box office. Whilst I was collecting my wits together I seemed to be surrounded by police (maybe they thought I had been assaulted?) and somebody returned my cap which had flew off. A jobsworth turned up with a clip board and wanted me to go to St Johns ambulance post but I declined and the police helped me to my feet in a kindly manner and I was in the ground before kick-off.

Bruised thigh, rib area and arm but a great win!

Dunno how significant it was but the chief honcho of the Met was there at the game; he walked passed me at HT at the back of the Lower Loft with two bodyguards in tow.
