Anyone else on here into their watches or got anything a bit special in their collection ?

Just had one of these delivered this morning and am like a dog with 2 dicks
For some reason I've always fancied a moon phase watch and have finally got one

I love my watches and have collected them for years.

currently toying with a Grand Seiko as that itch hasn't been scratched yet; tended to stick to the Swiss manufacturers. The GS go under the radar with most as it's not widely known that Seiko have a range that go head to head with the finest Swiss made. Haven't gone for a moonphase yet either as i tend to prefer my dress watches a little more simple in design but occassionally feel the urge for a MP. That one has a nice design, the numerals rather than hour markers remind me of Cartier; what size is that, Seiko usually around the 40mm mark.

tend to wear sports watches most of the time as i'm a clumsy sod, also prefer to save wearing leather straps rather than steel or rubber for when i'm suited up and working; not sat in the office in my dog walking gear.

when i'm not wasting time (no pun intended) on here i'm often on TZUK forum which is a watch nerds delight. if you think we can get into petty bitching and squabbling on here you should have a look on there and see grown men really bitching at each other.

enjoy the new acquisition.

Funny - was looking at some old moon phase watches at the weekend. Talking of the moon - I bought one of these last year, the same, and only, watch worn on the moon by the Apollo astronauts.

that's a classic piece, a staple of most serious collections and pretty good value too.

i've got the original manual & a snoopy limited edition which was overlooked by many at the time but has become very collectable of late.

I really like watches and had had quite a few over the years but didn't wear them much and never wear them anymore.

When in my teens, I worked for a printing ink manufacturer and we couldn't wear anything like watches, rings etc for safety reasons. Even though I left there when I was 20, to this day I've still never really worn any.

I would like a skeleton watch though. I think I may treat myself one day.

My missus and family got me a Tag Monaco for my 40th which I've wanted since I was a kid, love it.

I wear it day in day out and use the timer for boiling eggs etc which is probably not the done thing for keeping it in great nick, but might as well wear it if you've got it!

One thing I've noticed is it doesn't keep great time, loses probably a minute a week, which you wouldn't expect.

The timing issue must play havoc with the eggs, mate.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

I should have left this post a couple of days and listed it under the heading Sexy Friday. This is like Watch Porn.
That Omega is timeless and for some reason I just knew Kingsbury would have a Breitling

I love having a watch with both a moon phase indicator and a tide graph. It's only a cheap Casio - my second of that type - but then I am so clumsy that I dare not wear anything fancy day to day.

My - cough -"dress" watches are a Citizen ecodrive (what else?) which I was given to mark 5 years at my company and the second Nixon watch I have owned (the strap broke on the first and could not be replaced). I love the Nixon brand because the watches are distinctive but sensibly priced. I'm not into megabucks wristwear, the old skinflint that I am.

I have a Raymond weil ( Tango "genieve" 5560)
that I got as a prezzie from an ex. 10 plus years ago. Have always loved my inexpensive watch collection. They remind me of a place and time. The Raymond Weil however does nothing for me and I want rid.
At the right price of course ;)
Any tips watch fiends!!

Yes - I have an EcoDrive which I use as my main watch a lot of the time. It's radio controlled as well, in my view the perfect watch in functional terms. No battery, no need to wind up and always correct to the second. What's not to like?

I'm lucky to have 2 Tag Heurs, both Aquaracers..... 1 with blue face and full colour logo and 1 with full yellow face with Barack outlined logo.

Great watches, so much so that I bought my partner the extremely rare Ladies Formula 1 diamond encrusted Taup mother of pearl faced Tag a couple of Christmases ago.

Now saving for a Breitling Aviator with yellow face, but that's a year or 2 off yet.
Then I'll finish with a nice Omega sometime around 2065 at the rate I'm saving lol

My most accurate watch was a cheap $10 digital Casio from Woolies. It never gained or lost a second (probably sheer fluke), but working with Caustic Soda at a winery did for it and I have never worn anything but a diver's watch since.

Main advantage, I never remove my watch.

Bought a TAG in Dubai in 2001 for £700 and apart from one battery change the watch never lost a second, It went swimming with me in pools and seas and apart from the odd scratch hasn't suffered. Treated myself to a new TAG Aquaracer with a blue face in Barbados last year, costing around £900 and again it is so far a fantastic watch, good looking and light to wear.

I love watches but have really struggled over the years with getting contact dermatitis from different straps and have to stop wearing them. Never had particularly expensive watches, and I think too much slap bass in the 80s and 90s may have upset the workings of a few of them with hindsight.

On the plane back from Dublin last July as it was our anniversary the Mrs and I got an inflight watch each that we liked just to mark the day. It is a Skagen and cost about £100 and the strap is titanium and it does not seem to react with my delicate skin!!!

Whilst it is still on my wrist (just about) I have to say that although it gets a number of favorable comments, it is without doubt one of the worst constructed watches I have ever had and the face has more cracks on it than the average 14yrs olds phone screen and the fastening mechanism insists on self loosening on my wrist every hour. Shame as I really liked the look of the watch which is why I bought it in the first place and still try and wear it.

i've not bought one of his yet; missed out on the dreadnought a while ago but have plenty of others to keep me going.

can be a very expensive interest but i've tried to convince SWMBO that they are really for investment purposes. there's always a 'grail' watch out there to try and justify acquiring; mine is currently the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, probably need to shift a couple on to justify that as an incoming. just so hard to decide which of them to sacrifice!
