Blimey Fred, is there a goth day!?.. Just reminds me of a lovely looking and very nice barmaid in my local in the early 80's.. Her mates would sit in the corner looking moody and depressed but most were good fun..I would stick a few bob in the jukebox and play 'she sells sanctuary'.. Good tune, and the goths would have a blast pretending not to like it.
But did you John?.. My old man pointed her out to me many years ago..she was walking down a quiet street in south Ken, about 1978.. It was love at first sight, for me...I was 13, but even then I thought.... Yummy !!She waved at me and my dad..every time we saw her in a film after that. We would say ..'look, it's our bird'..! Oh, um, goth... Got a funny story about Robert smith in Hammersmith odeon..

Great word is 'kibosh'. Sadly another victim of North American vowel abuse. Although I have succumbed to describing tomato slightly more smoothly, I have not lowered myself to 'keebosh', yet.
