Good news - Shodipo has taken his chance 11:30 - Jul 22 with 3778 viewssimmo

I'd be happy for him to say the same thing about Furlong and RGC, both deserve to be part of the squad and we need them.

That is positive news, hope he takes his chance

Interesting, hope he gets some meaningful game time if he continues to impress.

Nice change to the usual 'loan out for experience multiple times over a couple of years and then release' method we employ with youth players.

Getting a little bit excited about this fella. I predict great things for him.

Just like i Did for Dean Neal, Chris Plummer, Mark Perry, Richard Paquette and Frankie Sutherland.

Clive bloody Allen ruined it.

I expected every young kid to break through, score regular hat tricks, play for England, then get us a massive transfer fee after he'd top scored for a few seasons.

Perry's debut as, what a 17 year old? And a goal. It looked so, so promising.
Did he ever even find his right position?

Bare bones.

Theres been a long list of players I've been excited about in pre-season coming in to the season and then it never happened in the last 15 years. Wes Daly, Dennis Oli, Marcus Bean, Scott Donnelly, Pat Kanyuka, Shabazz Baidoo, Dominic Shimmin, Kieran St. Aimie, Frankie Sutherland and many more I'm sure ....ah well fck it, Jimmy strikes me as the kind of sensible bloke who knows how to handle and motivate a young player to want to do well!

The other recent-ish case who was a real shame was Olly Burgess. Looked a really smart, cultured player after breaking into the team under Holloway, then did his knee and that essentially was that.

I also remember marking Andrew Mcdermott out for future greatness after his home debut against Southampton i think it was.

.. I am to picking a out a player as Gary Kasparov is to diagnosing A fault in a combi boiler.

Useless. utterly useless.

I once pulled Mark Perrys auntie in champers wine bar in Eastcote

if your talking Youngsters who should of made it what about Justin Channing
always thought he played well at fullback or midfield when asked
he also looked liked he should of played guitar in curiosity killed the cat as well

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

In his first game, Shodders will be expected to waltzed past several players before planting a 25-yard screamer in the top-corner, as Rob Green flaps ungainly at the bullet that just went past him.

Anything less, and he'll be a truly unmitigated and irredeemable caaaant.

Thank you Friend Paul Parker. I remember Friend Justin Channing well, wasnt he shagging everything from the tea lady to the Receptionist at the club ?.

Friend Richard Graham was another who flattered only to cruelly deceive.

Never trust anyone called Justin about their sexual prowess.

Never knowingly right.

Never heard that Rumour about channing but its no surprise , he was a good looking boy

Richard Graham I believe was bigged up a lot by Gerry Francis in the days we were bringing through Langley & Jeanne , I don't remember him getting much of a sniff and then faded into obscurity
then again Ross Weare was going to be the new Sir Les under Gerry

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Friend Ross weare !, how could i forget, he faded quicker into obscurity than Terry lee mail when gary tibbs replaced him in Adam and the ants.

Didn't Mcdermott end up having a decent career at West Brom and some other places? At least he kicked on a bit. I rated him as well

Justin Channing scored a goal up at Highfield road in a 3-0 win

I was sat next to David Pizanti who laughed his head when Justin scored.

Still dont know why he laughed so much. I asked him he just said Justin

must have been 1992

I think he has a better chance than he would have had under, say, Hughes or Redknapp. Jimothy seems more willing to take a punt on youth, if the pre-season is any indicator. With Doughty looking like he might break through and Kpekewa, Furlong and Petrasso all involved too, this might be the year of the home-ish grown player.

Stephan Bailey was the one for me in the Holloway/Waddock times.

I thought he looked really good when he was introduced to the side. Still can't work out what went wrong!

Hope that Shodipo has enough game time to warrant not going out on loan.
