Gunnersbury Avenue Speed Camera 20:52 - Jul 25 with 7359 viewsMrSheen

I've just opened letters informing us of two speeding offences in a week on the same camera - outside the International School in Gunnersbury Avenue, driving up from Chiswick roundabout. They were for driving at 36mph and 39mph, in an area that was a 40mph zone for decades until the beginning of this year. The 40mph zone begins within a couple of steps from the last speed mark. You have been warned.

Speaking very quietly .....a QPR supporting mate works for TFL and the average speed cameras are coming to most dual carriageways in ALL London boroughs. I have noticed round Twickenham/Richmond that the traffic lights have changed in recent weeks creating more queues. I will ask him if there is new directive from Brother Khan!

no there isn't - the only TfL roads (TLRN - see my comment above) in Richmond are the A316 and the North/South Circulars. On the TLRN, movement of the volume of traffic IS the priority.

It is likely that any change is as result of road works, and traffic finding new routes rather than any conspiracy theory/war on drivers.

On top of that Sadiq hasn't been in long enough for any plans to have taken effect. Its takes months of planning to re-time traffic lights, and in any case there is a UK wide piece of software that optimises traffic lights based on the traffic on all arms of the junction - essentially it gives the most time to the highest volume arms. On top of that the majority of lights in London have a real time function that adapts to ebbs and flows throughout the day and adjusts green time accordingly.

Aand no I don't work for TfL but I am a traffic engineer for one of the London Boroughs (not saying which one though!).

Why stop now, just when I'm hating it

Sadiq knting Khan then.

I've noticed the traffic lights have got a whole lot redder since his coronation. Sat in Hounslow for nigh on 3 minutes yesterday waiting for one to change.

Socialism strikes again.

If it was 3 minutes (which I doubt, although it may have felt like it), then there is a fault with the lights. the maximum cycle time for lights in London is 90 seconds... i.e. that is the most you should ever have to wait between your signal going red and it changing to green.

There's another one of those red light/speed cameras on the A40 heading into London at the pedestrian crossing just before you get to the elevated section/ turn off for White City.

Did exactly the same thing, accelerated slightly to go through an amber light at 2am with literally not a car or person in sight (f--k knows why it was going red), and got done for "speeding". Had to go on a course.

I'm above the permitted course speed so another 3 to add to the collection!
