The Karl character is the granite-jawed outdoor type whose many layers and accomplishments are only gradually revealed.
Konk is the most patient guy in the world, who will slowly come apart after being placed by the cruel hand of fate amid a horde of red-trousered Ruperts. I foresee a big crisis and a stand-off with armed police.
Holloway is the comic villain who morphs into tragic hero on a sinking boat smuggling flip-flops into Ukraine
