Deleterious : my word of the day. 19:43 - Sep 22 with 1760 viewssmegma

You'll never be able to use it on Channel 4s Countdown and no, I have no clue what it means either (and I won't look it up ). But apparently some bloke called Clive Whittingham 'conveyed the deleterious impression' according to Shepherds Bush' very own Sir Bob Geldof in his frequent ranting article in the latest edition #316 of AKUTRs (page 36 for those who bought it last night.)

As an aside, my son brought his Sunderland mate along to LR for the first time on Wednesday and he actually, genuinely asked Dave Thomas if he was selling programmes!

I did laugh out loud. Lolled, you might say.

I am still Steve but no longer in Dagenham.

It's another one of John OMahoneys rants about the club for not looking after ALL our ex footballers. Badly written as usual and full of long words to try and prove he's intellectual, or more intellectual than us mere plebs. In it he digs you out a little bit Clive you deleterious monster you. I think he owns a trumpet.

Fair enough, not sure what I've done to offend him recently though.

Iterate - "to repeat, to state repeatedly".

Reiterate - "to repeat, to state repeatedly".

They can't both be right.

While we're at it:

Flammable - "Able to be set on fire".

Inflammable - "Able to be set on fire".

Difficult for foreigners, that one.

It gets worse people. Also included in the article is the word 'indifatigable' and the article has nothing to do with George Holloway or any despots.

A contretemps/kerfuffle specifically between tinny-wielding 'street-drinkers' is a special-brouhaha.
