While Cousins going off, or actually Wszolek coming on, balanced our team, we were still pretty poor for the next 40-45 minutes. As much as it rankles as I stand next to Connell, I have to agree with him, it was that challenge and the incompetence of the ref which galvanised our support and the players.

You mean two strikers playing upfront as we've had strikers on the wing most of the season.

Turning point yesterday... on 23:15 - Sep 25 with 928 views | GloryHunter | Two turning points for me: 1. The announcer saying Luongo was going to be subbed, and the crowd's reaction. 2. Wszolek's back-handstand after being fouled adj. to R block. This man is going to be a hero. Shame he's only on loan.

Think he's only on loan so they could complete the deal in time? He'll be signed I think. Agree with the OP - funny how sometimes a bad foul or a terrible refereeing decision suddenly unites the crowd behind the team. It's like 'hey! we're the only ones who are allowed to have a go at them lot - because, deep down we love 'em!'
