Can't see him saying much. Mutual agreement or something like that. And then gets to keep some of his wad.

From the beeeeeb

Allardyce, 61, is also alleged to have used his role to negotiate a deal worth £400,000 to represent a Far East firm.

An FA statement said Allardyce's conduct "was inappropriate of the England manager".

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

Text read out on radio - "Sam's resignation has robbed the papers of the headline "Fired Man Sam"".

So the England manager has been forced out after one game after the lamest "sting" ever. What a load of bollocks.

Redknapp, Southgate or Bruce mmmmm can't wait.

Lamest part of the whole affair was appointing him as England manager in the first place. And as you have identified in the likely list of replacements, looking for an English replacement comes close to Clive's standard definition of insanity.

Appoint whoever you like for the qualifiers, England will sail through as usual. Then hand a short term contract to the best available in Summer 2018. As good or better than another two year contract for the second raters in the frame now.

Exactly. How stupid / arrogant / greedy do you have to be to fall for such an obvious sting?

I must be the only person who doesn't mind Alladyce. He does well with limited players getting the best out of them, which is pretty much all England are these days.

Oh well he's gone now, another media triumph.

I agree, but trial by media or not surely you condemn his conduct in that transcript?

I don't know considering he was clearly pissed if that was all they got from him over a large period of time then it's not a massive deal is it? He sort of promised some stuff but needed to check with the FA first.

Yes I understand that H I'm just intrigued to know why he should go If he's done nothing wrong.

Of course nobody knows right now so Its all guess work, its all a bloody mess too.

Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Sorry, wasn't intending to come across as teaching granny to suck eggs. I'd guess the FA want to be seen to uphold the integrity of the game (although watch them not go after the agents and prominent managers, Alladyce referred to). A load of bluff and bluster about values, etc.

Plus, they probably didn't want/like him from the start and this is a good excuse to get rid (and justify their original stance on the likes of him, Redknapp, etc).

Oh, and that classic senior management thing of "not wanting to appear weak". He's also probably not wanting to drag this through the courts, knows his position is undermined, gets to keep his £3m and come out with a "sincere apology".

Allardyce has released a classic non-apology apology.

"Mutual consent" according to the FA, so maybe a pay-off and it stays away from court.

No he hasn't Graham Rixed it or anything, but still disappointing that sort of greed is washing round the top jobs.

I don't think a tribunal would have come close to awarding Sam anywhere near £3 million.

Employers can do very much as they like with employees who have been in the job for only three months!

I als don't think any newspaper would carry out a "sting" operation unless they were very sure of the outcome. Perhaps they have details of past discressions that are yet to be released.

Not looking good for Big Sam.... on 18:35 - Sep 27 by Hunterhoop

But that isn't a remotely accurate analogy,

This was "we want to pay you X to do some public speaking for us and socialise with our clients". That happens all the time, with many senior businessmen, professionals and politicians....and it's all to do with their status and/or role, just like this was.

That he got into alluding to being able to help them get around the 3rd party ownership stuff, is worse...but he doesn't actually do it.

It's completely different to being bribed to give work to a certain supplier, which is your analogy.

Maybe my anaolgy should have been me saying to a printer that i know a way that can circumnavigate rules over not using a single-supplier and giving them all tne work.

Either way, he's gone now so has done/said something wrong. Mutual consent is a way that both parties save face but technically should have been sacked.

So, who will employ him next?!

He basically got caught talking crap whilst pissed the same way 99% of blokes do every so often.

We are going to turn football managers into media trained politicians as a priority over trying to win some games of football. No wonder the England team is so shite.

I agree with this to be honest. I didn't see or hear anything illegal, I took it to be just blathering.

I think he was being obnoxious and insulting but surely it was a case of disciplining him and letting him carry on.

On the up side big Sam leaves with the best record of any England manager in the modern era. A 100% win rate.

On the down side, Gareth Southgate is in charge. I guess the FA will now go back to Steve Bruce and say, you know we told you you were sh*t, well, as long as you've not been framed by a newspaper you're in.

Never knowingly right.

I think he ought to have been sacked for not knowing the rules of tournament football alone in claiming we just needed a draw against Iceland to get through....

I don't see why, it's fairly well know Big Sam is in bed with dodgy agents, do you remember all the posts about him and Kevin Nolan trying to pressure Ravel Morrison into something similar before his loan here?

he got his 'dream job' and jeopardised it in the stupidest way possible before he even played a game. we lambast Redknapp for being a crook and I don't see why anyone would give Allardici a free pass?

Three words sum him up

Greedy
Arrogant
Stupid

Never liked the bloke. Never trust anyone who chews gum with their mouth open. Got his just desserts. Wonder what info the Telegraph has on other managers. Hopefully something on Candleface whilst he was at Rangers, would love to see the club sue him.
