Just imagine if Hoos was exRangers! We'd be the richest club in the world (again).
I think when it comes to finances, sentimentality is best left out of it. A boring american with a boner for balance sheets in the black seems perfect and he's done minor miracles since he joined.

I remember Gary Penrice with the ball at his feet by the corner flag in front of the loft once beating two players then looking up for a pass whilst the other Rangers players were stood around in the penalty area scratching their bottoms and discussing Quantum theory and the theoretical basis of modern physics so he sort of shrugged his shoulders and smashed the ball into the back of the net from a ridiculous angle. I thought at the time nice goal Gary, why don't you do that more often you bloody West Country gibbon.
That's about it from me on the Gary Penrice front.
My official Gary Penrice memory too. Right in front of me, it was all in slow motion.

A magnificent football club, the love of our lives, finding a way to finally have its day in the sun.
Porno Penrice, what a legend. I have one of these sitting on a shelf at home!
Starter for ten - in that figure set each club in the Premier League that season had four players in the collection. Who were our other three besides Penrice?

My official Gary Penrice memory is him scoring the winner at home against Villa (Wilkins' first as manager). Dichio had put us one up in the first half. Villa had pushed everyone up and Mark Bosnich had charged up the field in injury time to attempt to clear the ball into our box. He took a big swipe at it and missed by miles. Enter Penny to nick the ball from him and then sprint 50 yards, his little legs pumping away nineteen to the dozen being vainly chased by Bosnich like a Benny Hill sketch, to put the ball in the empty net. 2-0 Rangers, cue pandemonium.
I think also a lot of people forget that during autumn in the 92/93 season he was just starting to click really well with Les up front forming a really good partnership, scored a few goals and then broke his leg at Middlesbrough in the league game immediately after the Swindon FA Cup game (when he scored the other goal to Les's brace). He was flying then and IMO it's a "what might have been" moment had he stayed fit to the season's end.

Is right, Impey definitely cos I had that one. Don't think I had a Gallen though
In my "office" /den I'm looking up at a photo of me with Kev and Gaz signing a shirt during the Highland pre season tour. On top of the frame are the figures of Macca Kev and Andy Impey but no Gary Penrice strangely enough... plus Andy has only one arm How strange or sad is that ?

Maybe, but not in hoops. He was produced in an England kit (and possibly Newcastle). When the figures were produced in 1995 Les had already left the club.
So the four were Gallen , Impey, McDonald and Penrice. We then got relegated that season so those 4 were the only figures produced by Corinthians.

When moving house recently I found all 4 in their original boxes. Must have known they would be the only ones at the time.

My official Penrice memory was that home game against Spurs.
Best 2nd half performance ever , we could have had 15
And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles
Brian Moore

Indeed, I've got Les as well but he was in a Newcastle kit.
