RIP Sean O'Brien 23:05 - Oct 22 with 6181 viewsWrightUp5hit___

Hope you will recollect Sean who had one dream, to take his little boy Max to Rangers before the cancer got to Sean. He got some publicity on the QPR web site, helping to fund the drugs keeping him alive.

Unfortunately the cancer took Sean last night.

I never actually met Sean, but conversed with him frequently regarding our similar conditions. He was amazingly strong and supportive to a huge network of cancer sufferers.

RIP Sean, big virtual hugs to Caroline and Max

I grew up with him, played football with him at Acton-Ealing Whistlers and was one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet.

Was Rangers through and through, and he fought for as long as he could, I spoke to him on Friday, not knowing that this was going to be the last time, i saw his Twitter update on Monday, but still thought he had a few more days/weeks of fight left as he'd continued to prove the doctors wrong time and time again.

His spirit was infectious, and he never ever ever gave up hope!

It never fails to amaze me how strong some people are in the face their own mortality.

Knowing you won't see your kids grow, see them get married, enjoy grandkids must be heartbreaking so to support others while your day are numbered takes something very special imho.

Didn't know Sean but was clearly very a special man, RIP fella

Saw the BBC News bulletin featuring his plight a few months.

Came across as a thoroughly decent bloke in the face of such adversity.

RIP Sean, may your wife and child gain inspiration from your strength of character.

Yes always a tragic reminder of what such families go through when someone dies way too young. I remember the news cast.

I lost my mum three months ago, but at the age of 78, despite being sad of course, she had a full life, saw her kids and grandkids grow up, a more normal scenario, but for people who lose loved ones way before their time must be so hard.

Really Sad News
I watched the initial news report on Sean and contributed when Jimmy Mo did his charity marathon to raise funds for him and his family.
I knew he was QPR fan but not a fellow ex Whistler like L Block and myself.

RIP Sean, tragic news, only read of this last night, a young man with so much to live for, taken too soon - followed a well worn West London path from the Whistlers to Loftus Road with the likes of Jim Gallen, Pat O'Connor and many more - if anyone has a Just Giving or similar link would appreciate if they could upload.

Would be really nice to see Max and his mum as guests at a home game and to have a minutes applause for Sean.

The club were hugely supportive of Sean and his family and I don't doubt that will continue through this difficult period for his family

Didn't realise it was stand up to Cancer week, so if you really want to help

Very, very sad news. He supported, inspired and gave hope to so many fellow sufferers. A true warrior. QPR family has lost one of our finest.
