Sir, Giles Coren asks for the names of good, but not too fancy, restaurants in Peterborough (Notebook, Feb 1). May I suggest the excellent Brewery Tap near the station, the home of Oakham Ales, which serves tasty Thai food. Giles and his son can then celebrate QPR’s win over the mighty Posh in convivial surroundings. In the unlikely event of his team losing he can drown his sorrows with excellent Peterborough beer brewed on the premises. A win-win situation.

What's so bad about Giles Coren?
Other than being called Giles |
- His reviews are often...iffy. A lot of the links are dead now, but give you a POV on some of the things he finds funny https://twunroll.com/article/1046399439642996739
- He wrote a column that was disturbingly sexualised about his 3 year old daughter
- He was exposed using a fake account to accuse people of twitter who criticised him of being antisemitic
- He baselessly called Michael White a paedophile, then threatened to stab him
- When the journalist Dawn Foster died he tweeted that he hoped she was now in hell where she belongs - for the heinous crime of suggesting he got his job because of who his dad is

He just comes across as quite an unpleasant man, and a prime example of how being famous and using twitter rots your brain. Maybe mine too. I mean, why do I even know all this stuff about him. The Internet sucks | | | |

Well, we also get his sister (and used to have his dad too) so there's a bit of balancing off there. I think we're ahead of the game on the family.
