Memorial for a young QPR fan 16:54 - Aug 8 with 3041 viewslightwaterhoop

I often walk the dog across Chobham Common in Surrey and in one of the car parks there is a little memorial to a QPR fan called Lyndon who very sadly passed away age 19 in 2020.its a
small flower bed with Geraniums and a wooden frame with photos of Lyndon and his family including 3 or 4 of him at the play off final at Wembley with his Dad and Sister all in QPR shirts.I find it very moving and as were a fairly small club i thought it deserved a mention on here.Hope no one minds.

RIP

There's a wooden bench in our local cemetery dedicated to a QPR fan but the person it's dedicated to lived a ripe old age. 19 is tragic. RIP.

Poor kid.. RIP Lyndon.
I hope his Dad got through it OK. He must have been racked with guilt. Just terrible.

You see that’s what matters.

It doesn’t matter that Andre Dozzell resembles Larry Grayson out of possession
It doesn’t matter that Jaffa Cake Bonne plays the game in a different postcode to his mates
It doesn’t matter if Dykes phones it in, Niko signs a 34 year contract extension or even that we’ve slipped so far down the importance ratings for London clubs that Carsholton FC are bigger than us.

What matters is that we are QPR and so was (and forever will be) young Lyndon.
What matters is that people who knew him knew in his memorial he’d want pictures of times and things that meant the most to him.
What matters is that he was one of us…. So he matters to us.

That’s so sad , can’t imagine how his family feel . Puts a football game into perspective, worrying about how we play at Sunderland … so what

Lovely words LBlock, you’re spot on. Part of what’s so special and wonderful about this club.

RIP Lyndon.
