Of course, the top half of the league will be constantly changing, but of the sides currently in the first 12, we will have played away to 8 of those when we reach the halfway stage. Burnley, Reading & Rotherham being the exceptions. Chuck in that we would also have played at Birmingham, Bristol City & Sunderland (the most likely clubs to move upwards).
This may have no bearing on how we perform from Christmas onwards, but I thought it surprising & worth noting, that we are top of the league when our awayn fixtures have been loaded against us.
We will need to take advantage when we are playing the top clubs at LR, but I'm happier that we don't have the end of last seasons visits to Blackburn, Huddersfield, Sheffield United, Forest etc. In theory our away matches should reap more points than the first half, but this is definitely not guarenteed! |  | | |  |

Looking at our fixture there are also two crucial weeks for us. One is at Christmas where we've got Cardiff away followed by Luton and Sheffield Utd at home. Then at the end of the season we have a week where we play Coventry and Norwich at home followed by Burnley away. Luton, Norwich, Burnley and Sheffield United all being very strong top six contenders those are two potentially massive weeks for us. |  | | |

IMHO the next two weeks with five games in sixteen days are going to be really tough. Two away games to start with John Eustace's much improved Brum and a Norwich side that has been struggling of late but will surely improve soon, with or without Dean Smith. Then two at home against strugglers Huddersfield and an underperforming, WBA, who may have a new manager. Finally, a trip to catch up Coventry, who could be 4th in the table with wins from games in hand. (yes I know), just for illustrative purposes to show that they are much better than their league position.
