Yes, desperate times. Eze contract expires in 2 years, so now is the time to sell him for max monies.
The problem is not his wages for the bigger clubs but the rumoured 20% sell-on clause QPR have. This means you would have to pay £60m for him, but pay QPR £12m of that!
Not many teams can or will do that.
It would save us this year, as then we could do a new deal for Willock and a few others. Buy some players and possibly survive this season with some Prem loans.
Or it's all nonsense, and we are still swimming in the brown stuff ... as we are right now.

Yup it's true he doesn't fit the supposed buy young and sell for a profit model but my gut feeling is that ship has sailed for this season.
For a starters we need 2 or 3 experienced pros who will galvanise the squad and get them working, then some genuine young loan players who want a chance to prove themselves, will integrate into the team, not be sick notes and realise they can actually make a name for themselves, they do exist you just have to pick the right players....
Whether that can be done on a budget of sweet FA I have no idea but without some more signings we are on a one way route to League One.... [Post edited 31 Jul 2023 7:40]
