Well he isn't a Bowles, Marsh, Ferdy etc but he is one player who I will be talking about for years to come.
Sometimes a legendary player is about their heart above ability. Ainsworth for me defined everything that is right about a QPR player's attitude. I see a lot of his heart in Mackie, who is to be honest a better player, but Gareth for me is one of the greats. He included the fans and sweated blood. A fair few wonder goals as well.

Beat those two!
I agree, he gave the fans so many great moments. Along with the moments already mentioned I remember him scoring a header from outside the area by throwing his whole body at a ball floated onto the full backs head, lobbing the keeper in the process. I also remember him being pushed into the paddocks and still nearly beating his man to the ball that was still in play then chasing him back.
The guy is without doubt a class act.

I was at that rushden game and have seen those goals lots of times but for some reason the hairs on the back of my neck stood on end as Ive just rewatched them absolutely phenomenal strikes
And remember being absolutely gutted and fuming that we drew 3-3 in the end

We nearly bloody lost as well. Chris Day made a great save from Onandi Lowe in stoppage time. That was around the time Holloway had a fixation with shutting up shop and trying to close the game out from the 60th minute onwards.
