When I go onto a website using my lap top I am unable to type anything.
For example, I can navigate using Google to a web site eg lottery, but then cannot enter my user name or password.
Same with my bank, I cannot enter details to log in. Using my iPad is no problem.
My laptop did have so called important updates which I updated plus there was an Apple update that tried to install but kep failing.
Today I restored my laptop to this time last week but it's made no difference.
anyone else had this or got any ideas how I can resolve? |  |

So, presumably your keyboard is generally working because you were able to post this and you can use it for other applications? For example, you can open Notepad or Word and type something in?
Is it all websites? Is it only when you have to enter a user ID and password? If you type your user ID and password into Notepad, then copy and paste them into the website does that work? If Ctrl-C for Copy and Ctrl-V for paste don't work from the keyboard you should also be able to copy and paste using the window menu or using the right mouse button.
Have you tried using a different internet browser? For example, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome?
I'd try those things to try and narrow down exactly where the problem lies. |  | | |

with issues like this i tend to use the wickes method
pop down to wickes
walk into isle two
pick up large club hammer prob 2/3 lbs square head ideally
go home
open lap top screen
hit screen repeatedly
sit back have a cup of tea while looking at handy work |  |

had this before. Go into device manager. You should only see one keyboard device. Uninstall it.
Reboot your pc and hopefully your pc will pick it up as a new device on the reboot. | | | |
