Leon Russell dies aged 74 15:53 - Nov 13 with 863 viewsfrancisbowles

My main memory is of him at the Concert For Bangladesh on stage with Dylan, Harrison, Ringo and many others.

Also well known (relatively) for the Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour etc with Joe Cocker.and the song Delta Lady.

Yes, my favourite was the Dylan song 'Watching the river flow', which I have just remembered was the first record I ever bought, in Wexford town in 1971. I haven't heard it in years, think it is in the loft, I remember ît was a very heavy thick piece of vinyl, must have been before any oil crisis. The b side.'Spanish is the loving tongue is lovely and don't think that version is available on cd, I imagine Russell played on that as well.
