A few good boozers off the top of my head:
Digbeth: The Anchor, Spotted Dog, the Old Crown.
Jewellery Quarter/Hockley: Lord Clifden, Red Lion, Jewellers - few other good spots round there too.
Central: Wellington, Old Joint Stock, and I like Purity's beers, so their taproom is worth a shout.
Craven Arms near the Mailbox is a nice old boozer. |  |

Good luck mate - all very walkable from anywhere central. Plenty of other good spots too. I really like Brum for a drink - friendly locals, loads of nice old boozers, and usually pretty reasonably priced. Miss my visits now my in-laws have moved away. | |
