After 4 pre-season games we now know:-
1 We're probably not going to give away a shed load of goals - esp if he plays Rio, Caulker and the Chief
2 We've got little creativity in midfield
3 We've got minimal options up front
4 we've got a small squad of senior players
5 the youngsters aren't bad but they are not Premiership quality (and may never be).
I bet all that comes as a total shock |  |

No really fussed, but when we go away tomorrow, i would like to see Harry start as many of those are going to play together vs Hull. Its all well and good giving them fitness which is obviously necessary, but at some point the back 5 should actually play together. |  |

I'm sue you're right. It would have been preferable to get them in earlier but it hasn't happened, yet.
According to Dutch sources, we're close to completing deals for Fer and Sigthorsson, which would go a long way to addressing the major weaknesses already revealed.
What I don't want to see is a last minute scramble on transfer deadline day. You end up with players you neither want nor need (Maiga, Keane, Dellatorre to name but 3). The opening game looks a great opportunity to get off to a good start. But I wouldn't want to approach that game wit sides resembling what we've put out so far. | |
