I saw this posted on yet another gloomy thread the other day "LOTS of clubs have suffered successive relegations"
Unless my research is totally wrong I read that in fact only 2 have suffered that fate in the last 30 years, so lets not talk about it as a real possibility - it isn't!

While true in the first season after relegation (it was Swindon and Wolves who have the honour of successive relegations), after three seasons down you have as much chance of being promoted by winning the second tier as you are to be relegated (12 vs 11, out of 85 teams over a 28 year period)
Another stat is the average finishing position in the years after relegation. On average, they get worse the longer after your relegation
Conclusions
There are two conclusions.
1) If you get relegated, get yourselves back up as quickly as humanly possible. It only gets harder.
2) If you support a Big Team - the sort that doesn't get relegated - then be bloody thankful.

Hmmmmmm, most/all posts on this theme are talking about our current squad and if they are equipped to "avoid" relegation.
