Last home game Sunday or Monday?
at 21:01 18 Apr 2013

Does anyone know if the Newcastle game is definitely on the Sunday? Some of my geordie mates tell me that they're waiting to see if Sky move it to the Monday before getting train tickets.

I've got my match ticket but need to organise trains to get down. Any help appreciated!

Rangers fans in Oz - suggestions non-QPR
at 12:23 13 Jun 2012

Hi, I've seen a couple of posters on here that live in New Zealand, but are there any that are in Australia?

My wife and I are looking to go to Oz in September and October for our honeymoon and I'm kind of overwhelmed by the sheer size of the place in terms of trying to fit everything in to 3 weeks. We'd fly via Hong Kong into Adelaide and need to finish in Sydney to go home via Tokyo, is there anything that we shouldn't miss out? To complicate matters, she has friends in Adelaide and family in Darwin and would ideally like to visit both! Any help greatly appreciated.

International strips
at 11:13 12 Jun 2012

Not sure if this has been discussed before, but what is the situation regarding international strips? Last night France, who always used to wear blue shirts, white shorts and red socks were wearing all blue, whilst England who always had blue shorts were wearing all white.

Spain have ditched their traditional black socks in favour of red as well. Is there a FIFA/UEFA rule governing the number of colours in a team strip?

Help needed - definitely QPR
at 17:37 2 Apr 2012

I need some help! I'm getting married in two weeks time to a massive Newcastle fan and we've decided that instead of table numbers, we're going to have famous 9's and 10's, obviously 9 for the Toon and 10 for us. Les is the anomaly (and the top table) in that he played for both clubs but was 9 for us and 10 for them.

I'm 37, so whilst including Rodney and Stan, I'm trying to keep it relevant to players I've seen in the flesh. To that end, I can't decide for my final slot, having added Roy Wegerle, between Simon Stainrod and Kevin Gallen. Who would you go for? She insists that one of the them must be the incumbent no. 10 - but there's no way I'm having Jay Bothroyd!!

Also, the way time with my kids has fallen over Easter - I have the chance to go to Old Trafford, a ground I've visited before, but not to see the R's. Do I go?

Optimism in dream shocker
at 17:43 20 Mar 2012

Yesterday evening I played badmington with a mate and before we played he suggested that I drink some 'Rage' to help my performance. F**k me! It was strange stuff that brought some feelings reminiscent of my clubbing days in the early 90's. Whilst not doing a great deal for my badmington, it did mean that I had a failry fitful sleep and in one of my strange dreams I was at the Etihad for the final game of the season and we needed to win by two goals and we would stay up. In the dream I was optimistic, whereas in reality I have come to terms with our impending relegation. Now I can't shake off the feeling that we can still do it, can someone please prick my dreamlike bubble and help me get the pessimistic feelings back, please?

FAO Clive re FA Youth Cup
at 12:57 5 Feb 2012

Hi Clive, one of the few benefits of being a geordie that supports QPR is that I don't often get to go to many home matches due to kids etc, thus avoiding days like yesterday, the fact that I'm basking in 6 degree heat at the moment and the fact that I can attend the FA Youth Cup game on Thursday at The Sports Direct Arena (the locals up here hate it when I do that)!
To that end, as I would imagine there won't be too many Rangers fans in attendance, I was wondering if you'd want a short match report following the game, to let the other fellow LFW reader the chance to find out what rough diamonds are managing to come through our pitiful youth structure? If you think there's a demand, I'll gladly pilfer a notebook from work and try and cobble something together?

Speeding update
at 10:43 5 Jan 2012

I recently posted as I had received a court summons for driving at 104 mph on the way home from the Wolves game and thought I'd update as to how the hearing went...
I got a 14 day ban and a small fine, so it wasn't too bad. I could have got away with 6 points but only if I'd lied and said I would lose my job as a result of the ban. So the advice I received on the site was very useful and definitely contributed towards their leniency.
I even made it back in time to attend the Newcastle - Man U game with the in-laws which was a very scary experience as we are playing them soon obviously. I fear a battering as they looked really good, especially Cabaye and Tiote!

Help needed with motoring offence (non QPR)
at 09:43 21 Dec 2011

Morning all, the day after the Wolves game, I was heading back up north having stayed with a mate in Birmingham and as I was late to pick the kids up from my ex, crept over the speed limit on the A1(M)...to the tune of 104 mph and was promptly pulled over by the police. After 3 months my court summons arrived and I pleaded guilty by post as the hearing was in Pontefract and I live near Newcastle.
I provided mitigating circumstances and financial information, but despite this the court have requested that I attend a hearing on 4 Jan as they are considering whether to disqualify me!
Has nayone been through this before? I have a clean driving licence, and fully appreciate that I shouldn't have been speeding. Any help greatly appreciated!
