IPTV question for the tech experts
at 20:14 21 Jul 2018

Evening all, does anyone have a IPTV subscription? A friend I know has recently started using it and swears by it for the football etc. I am being a little naive but I assume it’s not exactly legal?

Stoke train & match ticket available
at 20:41 27 Jan 2015

Due to family commitments I now am unable to go on Saturday.

I have one adult Match ticket and am on the following trains:

London Euston 08:46 arrive 11:00

Way back stoke on Trent 18:12 arrive 19:43

All in I paid £80 but appreciate I will not get all of this back.

I am therefore open to any reasonable offers?

Redundancy / employment advice help needed
at 23:13 7 Aug 2014

Evening all, I have a query which I am hoping someone on here will be able to help me with. My daughter is a hairdresser and has worked at the same salon since she was 16 (10 years). She has a meeting on Saturday when we expect the salon will be shut with her being made redundant. Unfortunately she doesn't have a written contract as her previous contract expired a few years ago when she was promoted but no new contract has been presented since. My daughter has most of her payslips since she started at the salon. I asked if she has her most recent p60 but her employer hasn't given her this for the most recent tax year. Does anyone have any indication on where she will stand re redundancy money? Her manager is a bully and I expect him to say as she has no contract she isn't entitled to redundancy. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Away game fans NEW RAILCARD RELEASED
at 10:53 25 Mar 2014

From the BBC Website. You will get your money back on one away game alone. Barnsley away is £47 but with this card £26.

new national railcard allowing two people travelling together to save a third on train fares has gone on sale.

The £30-a-year "Two Together Railcard" can be used on journeys after 09:30 on weekdays and all day at weekends by two named and photographed people.

Railcards were previously only available to those under 26, over 60, disabled, serving in the armed forces or travelling with children.

It is the first new national railcard to be launched for 30 years.

The new card can be used to save on standard and first class anytime, off-peak and advance tickets for travel throughout Britain after 9.30am Monday to Friday and all day on weekends and bank holidays.

For example, two super off-peak single tickets from Birmingham New Street to London Euston, which would normally cost £45.80, would cost £30.50 - a saving of £15.30 - for two passengers using the new railcard.

Two advance single tickets from Newcastle to Leeds will now cost £14.50 - saving £7.50.

David Mapp, commercial director at the Association of Train Operating Companies, said: "It's ideal for visiting family and friends, day trips or weekend breaks, so the Two Together Railcard will encourage more people to leave the car at home and take the train instead.

"As well as savings on rail travel, the new railcard also offers savings on attractions, theatre shows, restaurants, hotels and more."

Any two people can apply to buy the railcard - whether they are a couple, relatives, colleagues who regularly share a trip or commute, or two friends who regularly travel together. But the discount will only apply to journeys they are on together.

Doncaster Train / New Member
at 10:10 7 Sep 2013

Hi,

New poster but 'long time lurker' of this site. Easily the best of the net - although the competition isn't great! Supported The Rs since I was a boy first game at home vs Ipswich. Favourite cheese and only cheese I like is extra strong mature cheddar.

Anyway, Doncaster train tickets on sale today got return for around £25. Pretty good going and TV fixtures selected already. Ps the chaps who run this site keep up the good work.
