I wasn't a fan of Matthew Rose on the pitch, but he always came across as a thoroughly nice bloke off it, so I'm sad to hear that he didn't get a testimonial, especially if it was promised and that he left under a cloud. A player who has shown ten years loyalty deserves his moment, even if the money goes to charitable causes. But in this instant, he served us through some very troubled times when many others wouldn't have, and when we weren't swimming in money or paying great salaries. So, thank you for your efforts and know they won't go unappreciated by the vast majority.

I'm with you on this one, neil.: Matty was one of the good guys - it was a disgrace he never got a testimonial; I hope one day we can right that wrong; perpetual jokes about his injuries but he was always good enough to be picked when fit; I recall a late equaliser at Brighton and of course that great day in front of 30,000 at Hillsborough. Good luck to you Matty, you are up there in the pantheon of loyal Hoops legends; in an era of revolving door squads and overpaid, underperforming mercenaries, your 10 years at Rangers should serve as a reminder that your dogged loyalty beats fleeting self-serving glory hunters every time. QPR continues to neglect and abuse its heritage - one day we'll get back to being the proper football club so admired by the football community for decades. Rant over. Cheers Matty RoyBoy

People used to focus on the erratic fitness record, but he served the club well when we were struggling. Mr versatility.

Blogs 31 bloggersKnees-up Mother Brown #19 by wessex_exile February, and the U’s enter the most pivotal month of the season. Six games in just four weeks, with four of them against sides also in the bottom six. By March we should be either well clear of danger, or even deeper in the sh*t. With Danny Cowley’s U’s still unbeaten, and looking stronger game on game, I’m sure it’ll be the former, but first we have to do our bit to consign Steve ‘Sour Grapes’ Cotterill’s FGR back to non-league. After our shambolic 5-0 defeat at New Lawn, nothing would give me greater pleasure, even if it meant losing one of my closest awaydays in the process. What’s the excuse going to be today Steve – shocking pitch, faking head injuries, Mexican banditry or some other bit of sour-grapery bullsh*t? Queens Park Rangers Polls |
