The Danish outfit were left in shock when former Blackburn boss Roy Hodgson announced that he wants to terminate his contract so he can join Italian Serie A side Udinese, only a week after he guided FC Copenhagen to the championship.
The club have announced that they are looking for a big name with international experience, and Molby, now manager at Kidderminster, has been mentioned as a potential candidate, along with Stuart Baxter, who guided AIK to the Swedish championship in 1998, and former Germany national coach Berti Vogts.
"If I go home to train a team, it would have to be someone like Copenhagen or Brondby," said Molby on the official Liverpool website.
"Of course, it would be an interesting idea but at the moment it's purely hypothetical and I have a three-year deal with Kidderminster.
"But if Copenhagen should call, I would be interested and I believe I could find a solution with my English club if needs be."
