Why not visit our sponsors lounge

Another season is rapidly approaching us in a few weeks time. But while many Swans fans expect to see new signings strutting their stuff at the Liberty Stadium next season, one thing they won't expect to see will be SkySports Tv vans and cameras. That is because, for the second year running, SkySports have once again decided not to grace any Swansea City matches with live coverage.

The sports channel bosses, in their infinite wisdom, have decided to cover such illustrious games as Yeovil v Gillingham and Luton v Northampton. Yeovil are not only featured once but twice alongside our fellow League 1 rivals Swindon, Luton, Northampton, Gillingham, Carlisle and Nottingham Forest. Only once before, in the 2-2 draw with Huddersfield at home on Feb 24th 2006, have the Swans been featured on the UK sports channel since moving to the new stadium.

As a result of having none of our games covered live for SkySports over the past two seasons, the Swans have reportedly missed out on around £150,000. That money would have gone a long way to securing the services of a certain Scottish striker this summer. An even greater loss to the Swans will be the lack of exposure of the club to the general public, particularly as we should be playing a more continental, exciting style of play next season which could have attracted new fans.

Therefore, I urge Swansea City FC supporters to click on the link below to voice their disgust at the decision made by the sports channel's bigwigs. It might be too late to get any live games this season but if we protest long and loud enough, the disappointing decision will surely not be made for the third year in a row.
