Back the draw with Burnley in town - betting
Friday, 31st Jan 2014 21:21 by Andy Hillman

Three winners out of four bets for Andy Hillman last week, and he’s back tonight to preview the top of the table action between QPR and Burnley on Saturday.

Andy Hillman

Pretty much spot on last time out for the Huddersfield preview, as four of my five came in at odds of 5/6, 5/6, 9/11 and 7/5. Also did mention that Nahki Wells would score against us at 3/1, although I think we probably all saw that one coming a mile off so I won’t take too much credit for it.

NAP of the Week - Bournemouth vs Leicester - Leicester @ 21/20

One-hundred-point Leicester, as they shall forever be known, are the latest team who are apparently unlikely to ever lose a competitive game of football again. They’re so good that they’ll probably finish second as well, and win the playoffs just for kicks. Anyway, at some point they’ll lose, but it won’t be against Bournemouth this weekend. Leicester at better than evens is an absolute gift.

QPR related bet: QPR vs Burnley - draw, BTTS @ 7/2

The best top-of-the-table action since the Postman Always Rings Twice sees us host Burnley, another side who were supposed — according to the message board doom mongers - to never lose a game ever again and are the fourth side, after us, Leicester and Derby whom should have already won the league by now. I had this one down as a QPR win with BTTS @7/2, but Austin’s injury has changed my thinking to score draw, which is also 7/2.

Away singles and Double: Spurs (@ 11/10 vs Hull) and Liverpool (@ 4/6 vs WBA)

There seems to be plenty of value around in the Premier League this week, and this away double is definitely an example of that. Spurs, despite their 5-1 drubbing vs Man City, will fancy their chances away at Hull, who despite never really getting mauled (geddit?) have lost five of their last six, and only have a single win in ten (the anomalous 6-0 vs Fulham). Better than evens is a fantastic single bet, and great in a multiple. Liverpool away against West Brom is another no brainer at 4/6 as part of a multiple - it’s the best part of 5/2 for the double, which is great value.

Win to Nil Double: Man U (@ 7/4 vs Stoke) and Arsenal (@ 17/20 vs Crystal Palace)

As well as away win value in the Premier League, there is also win to nil value as well. Man Utd are 7/4 to win to nil against Stoke. A Stoke side who have lost three successive games 1-0, and a Man Utd side that is noticeably lifted by the signing of Mata. 7/4 is exceptional value, anyway you slice it. Arsenal have a (very nice for them...) habit of winning games 2-0, and Crystal Palace, despite the new-found resilience under Pulis, just don’t score enough goals. Close to evens for another Arsenal win to nil appeals greatly, and close to 9/2 for the pair to both win to nil is worth a couple of quid of anyone’s money.

Anti-Eintracht Win to Nil Double: Bayern (@ 4/5 vs Eintracht Frankfurt) and Dortmund (@ 6/4 vs Eintracht Braunschweig)

Eintracht apparently means ‘harmony’ in German, meaning that ‘Prussia Dortmund’ are playing ‘Harmony’ Braunschweig this weekend. Lovely stuff. Anyway, Bayern to win at home against Frankfurt is about as nailed on as it gets - Bayern home record in the Bundesliga - Munich are unbeaten in 43 league games at home, and Frankfurt are one of the league’s lowest scorers. Dortmund are struggling a bit this season (relatively speaking, they’re third, albeit having a bit of a time of it...) but facing Braunschweig, bottom of the league, only scored ten goals all season, should be the perfect opportunity to get back on it. For both of them to win to nil it’s the thick end of 7/2.
