Rangers fighting tooth and nail — podcast
Sunday, 18th May 2014 14:46 by LFW

QPR’s loan striker Kevin Doyle and former R’s defender Clarke Carlisle are the special guests on this week’s post-Wigan, pre-Wembley Open All R’s Podcast.

Speaking about the Wigan win Doyle said: “It was pretty nerve wracking. I came off after 65 minutes and it seemed like an awful long time from then until the end of the game. It never looked like they were going to cause us too many problems, it was just whether we could get the goal. For a while it looked like we weren’t going to score, but once we did apart from those corners at the end it wasn’t too stressful.

“I don’t feel like I’m on loan. I’ve been made to feel very welcome. While I’m here I feel like a full time QPR player. It will be strange if we win next week, the club goes to the Premier League, I go back to Wolves, it will take some adjustment. I have a year left at Wolves, I honestly don’t know what’s going to happen.”

Carlisle added: “It was awesome, it was fantastic, it was so good to see. The Loft on a night match, especially when it’s full like that, is something to behold. To get through the weather and the level of competition, Wigan were decent, I was incredibly happy.

“I do believe Derby are a better team, but QPR have the more experienced big game players. There are four players in that QPR team and if they turn up out here QPR will win that game.”

Host Paul Finney is joined in the studio by regular Charlie Ashcroft, music producer Stephan Street and politician
