A profitable week on the pitch and at Cheltenham for our pundits, The Don and The Power talk us through their successes.

It’s a red letter day for the betting column with The Don celebrating a massive killing on Denman at the Cheltenham Festival, bumping him a couple of hundred pounds into the black. Meanwhile The Power has a 50/1 success to report from last week’s column – what on earth made him back Damien Delaney for the first goal at Hillsborough? With The Don moving house this week he’s provided us with weekend tips but little else, I’m sure he’ll be back next Friday to revel in the success of a horse he backed several months before it finally galloped off earlier today.

The Don
For the weekend:
QPR £20 Win @ 3/4 with the Tote
World Snooker:
Shaun Murphy £10 win @ 10/1 with Stan James
Stephen Maguire £10 win @13/1 with Betsson
Grand National:
Kelami £5 each way @ 66/1 with Stan James

Previously Advised:

Lucky 15 bet – remaining Bewley’s Berry in the Grand National Neil Robertson in the World Snooker Championship, and Adam Scott in the US Masters. (Note: John Part winning the PDC World Darts Championship already guarantees a profit – all four will return upwards of a third of a million pounds).

Brian Power
Modesty would normally stop me from gloating about picking a 50/1 winner but after my abject performances this season I think it is only right and proper that I give myself a slap on the back for my efforts and fair play to my mate Damien for the assistance.

As I sit here writing this week’s effort on Wednesday morning a little earlier than usual as I am still on Red Alert as the baby is due on Friday and this will probably be the last peaceful moment I will have for the next 21 years. I had planned to check out the runners at Cheltenham but it has been cancelled due to the safety concerns with the Hospitality tents. Roy Keane was spot on with his Prawn Sarnie rant a few years ago.

Also while flicking through today’s Sun I see they have an article regarding Alonso missing the Inter game to be present at the birth of his first child. As a father to be I would not miss the birth both to see the baby arriving and to give support to my wife. I think Alonso should be applauded as it is the first time in 3 years that a man living on Merseyside has been present at both the birth and the conception of his child.

And last but not least Thank you Barnsley for providing the best Saturday evening TV since ITV put Jet in a lycra outfit and made her climb up a wall. In those days I only had eyes on one backside (Yes it was Jets and not the Wolf) where as last Saturday there were 11 arses on the pitch and a couple of thousand behind the goal and I could not stop laughing.

Enjoy St Patricks Day and have a drop of the black stuff for me.
