Rangers Youngsters made it two wins out of two with a gritty 2-1 win away at Barnet on Saturday.

Rangers Youngsters made it two wins out of two, with what was described as an ‘ugly’ win by Manager, Steve Brown, away at Barnet on Saturday morning. Barnet took the lead through a penalty decision on 28 minutes that baffled both sets of players after the referee adjudged a Rangers defender to be holding an opponent in the area from a free-kick.

The Bees lead for just two minutes as Vanterpool beat two defenders before slotting the ball home. It remained level at the break but the R’s went ahead ten minutes after the break with yet more controversy. Nanetti beat three players and was bundled over as he prepared too shoot for goal. With the referee about to blow for the free kick and the Barnet players stopped, Davenport stepped up to curl one into the top corner.

R’s boss Steve Brown told the Official QPR Website;

At half-time we told them that they could only lose the game, Barnet were not going to win it.

We conceded first again and that's something we are going to have to look at, but once again we have showed the character to come back and win. Against better sides we might not be able to do that and against a better side we would have been punished for the mistakes we made, particularly in the first half.

We've got Danny (Davenport), Terry (Smith) and Niki-Lee (Bulmer) to thank for the result - they stepped up to the mark and set the standard for everyone else.

Rangers Youngsters are next in action away at Brentford on Saturday 6th September, kick off -TBA

All Rangers Youth Team home games are played at Imperial College Sports Ground, Sipson Lane, Harlington, Middlesex and Kick Off at 10.45am.
