Tuesday, 2nd Sep 2008 17:44

QPR Reserves drew 1-1 with Charlton at Loftus Road this afternoon, in a game that saw the return from injury of Hogan Ephraim and Akos Buzsaky.

The R’s second string, now under the management of Gareth Ainsworth, kicked off their season and named a strong side against Charlton at Loftus Road this afternoon. Gareth Ainsworth, Adam Bolder, Patrick Agyemang, Angelo Balanta, Matteo Alberti and Samuel Di Carmine all featured as well as Hogan Ephraim and Akos Buzsaky returning from injury. Buzsaky was a second half substitute, replacing Agyemang on 46 minutes.

Following an entertaining first half, Charton took the lead early in the second through Darren Ambrose. The returning Ephraim went close with an 18 yard effort soon after, but wasn’t to be denied a goal on his return, curling a fine shot into the corner of the Charlton net following some fine interplay from the R’s. Despite dominating the second half, Rangers couldn’t find a winner and Buzsaky was denied late on by keeper Elliot.

QPR Res: Crowther, Ainsworth, Ilesanmi, Bolder, Harris, Oastler, Alberti, Ephraim, Agyemang (Buzsaky 46), Di Carmine, Balanta. Subs: Bulmer, Arthur, Maguire, Rose.
