LFW takes a look ahead to the forthcoming weekend's action in the Coca Cola Championship

Welcome back to LFW look ahead to the forthcoming weekends action in the Coca Cola Championship and following the midweek action, there were no real big movers and shakers as far as the league positions are concerned. The top three all won and there is now a definite gap building between them and the teams below them. Sky have this week selected one from the top and one from the bottom and the evening kick off on Saturday, is probably the game of the day as Preston take on 2nd placed Birmingham at Deepdale. Preston are a pretty decent outfit at home and are just goal difference away from the top six. With Birmingham boasting one of the best away records in the league, this has the makings of a good fixture. The Blues only defeat on the road was away at QPR back in late October.

We have to wait until Monday night for Sky's next selection, which comes from the Valley as rock bottom Charlton take on Carling Cup semi finalists, Derby. It really get's no better for the Addicks, who made it 11 games without a win after a 2-1 home reverse at the hands of Coventry midweek. Despite their recent Carling Cup win, Derby are hardly setting the world alight themselves and are without a win in 5 league games. I so, so hope, that Charlton managed to end this terrible run before QPR travel to the Valley on Boxing Day, else you just know what's going to happen??

Staying at the wrong end of the table, and Doncaster have a really tough looking away trip to a very much in form , Crystal Palace. Rovers form isn't actually that bad and their narrow defeat away at Preston midweek, was only their first in six games. As mentioned though. Palace are in great form at the moment and briefly flirted with the top six following Monday night's win over Southampton and have won four out of their last five. Second to bottom, Nottingham Forest are at home to Blackpool.

Elsewhere and there are three possible home bankers for your accumulators as leaders Wolves, will be looking to continue their reign at the top with a home game against Barnsley. Third placed Reading take on Norwich who followed up last weekend's win over rivals Ipswich, with a 2-1 defeat away at Watford midweek. Also, the form team of the division and 4th placed Burnley take on struggling Southampton at Turf Moor.
