Retro maybe, but somehow the likes of Bob Welding, Stan Owen, Johnny Fishwick Mick Baxter or Gerry Unsworth just wouldn't look right wearing one of those.

From what I've been told the black curved stripes ending in a point a supposed to be reminiscent of Polynesian tribal tattoos, which now it's been pointed out I can see.

There aren't many palm trees in Rochdale though, that I agree with you.
