Interesting finish developing at OT

Warwicks are 64-4 chasing 130, Kerrigan 3-19

The batting line up is no way good enough.

I fear having Proctor at 5 and Agathangelou at 3 will not be enough to get the volume of runs needed for a successful season. Also why is Wayne White playing ahead of a seamer like Jarvis or Ali, with Hogg being injured?

Totally agree!

Simon Katich is also a massive loss. Prince didn't look interested today.

Croft got 197 in the seconds today, so hopefully he and Karl Brown can recover the form of the Championship winning year, I do think that whoever takes over from Moores needs to recruit PDQ!

I was expecting an overseas top order batter to be signed but the signing of Khan (who I really rate) looks to have put paid to that.

I am not sure Brown is the answer at 3, but surely Croft is a better option at 5 than Procter and he is a good fielder and offers some part time off spin.

I hope Croft is given a chance.

Its highly likely that we will be on the lookout for a wicket keeper to, as I would think that Moores will take Buttler for England, further depleting our batting.

I'd imagine that Kerrigan may well get another chance this Summer

Davies started the first Championship match and is a decent stand in. I am not sure that Buttler is a good enough keeper or batsman to play test match cricket yet, but he will be the one day keeper.

Croftt got 197no against Yarkshire 2nds today. Must be put in for Aggers. I also agree with Wayne White. Hogg may come back in for him. Proctor and Brown are good players who played in the CLL and will score runs. Aggers is nowhere near good enough for 1st Division

Reading all these knowledgable posts make me realise how out of touch I am with county cricket at the moment. The thing that did it for me was when they started changing all the formats and having specialist players for different scenarios etc. What ever happened to the 40 over a side Sunday John Player league always screened live on BBC2

Not sure who comes in for White (where is Jarvis at the moment?), as I imagine Hogg will be required to come in for Anderson (who was a bit out of sorts this week) when he is off on England duty.

My worry about England under Moores stems from seeing Lancs under Moores. Can't bat and no idea how to improve. We even batted poorly for most of the Championship season in 2011. With Glen Chapple a year older it will become harder to just know we can take 20 cheap wickets each game and we will have to dig in and bat. Without Katich or a replacement of similar calibre we will struggle, we already are.

Regret to say I can see this season looking a lot more like 2012 than 2011.

Hope Kerrigan gets another chance with England, he is twice the bowler Panesar has ever been. Fortunately Moores will know that.

Jarvis took 6 wickets for not very many in a second team match against a strong Yorkshire side yesterday. There seems to be depth in the bowling, it is the batting I am really worried about.

I suspect that Chapple will play fewer games this year, especially of the one day variety. Even fewer if he is part of the new management set up. I expect either him or Yates to be given the job.

To be fair to Moores, Lancs were virtually on the brink of administration due to the number of court cases trying to block the redevelopment of OT. So I would image that the budget that he had to work with was pretty tight to say the least.

I totally agree that a class number 3 batsmen needs to be found, hopefully Croft can return to form at number 5 and Tom Smith has an injury free year as I think he's a really decent no7 batter and capable bowler.

Kyle Hogg looked a million miles from fitness when training during the lunch break yesterday and I'm not sure that White and Newby would make a cricketer between them!

I get home from work and see that Buttler and Smith have shown the top order how to bat! A lead of 250 should be enough for the win, especially with overcast conditions and Jimmy Anderson bowling on a fourth innings pitch.
