Am I missing something or is this a very bizarre appointment? I know he has coached at a few clubs but only one stint in management with forrest green and it hardly went well.

Really can't understand this one. His last managerial appointment was in non-League and he was dismissed after losing 7 out of 8 games. He has very little managerial experience and none whatsoever in the FL.

Think the new owner has made it clear that he wants a coach and not a manager. The owner will be in charge of transfers and picking the team. So I'm guessing the amount of applicants for the role has been pretty limited.
