More like 'by miserable consent'.

Absolutely.

Was said months into his time at Dale that there would come a time when it would hit home that Grimes has completely wasted his career. Championship talent, Sunday League work ethic, and his footballing epitaph will be "Had a decent loan spell at Lincoln".

Would he agree to cancel his contract without lining up another club? Although his last goal was scored when at Dale in early 2013, his average league goals per game is 0.24 (Donnelly's, for example, is 0.20) so I'd expect there to be a club - Accy? Mansfield? Burton? - that'd take a chance on him.

The highlight of his career was the equaliser at the Galpharm to make it 2-2.

Five seconds of talent and a lifetime of waste.

If we could have combined his skill with Georgeous' work ethic we would have had an incredible player.

One of the best finishers of the ball I have seen in a long while but the second things weren't going his way his team spirit went all together. A great shame.

Petulant, expensive and a reminder of a time best forgotten at Dale.

He's had a wonderful financial return for the minimal effort he's put in. At least Dick Turpin had the decency to wear a mask !!

There was talk of Cheltenham being linked again. He was on his way there last summer until the understandable pull of the #revolution swayed him.

Wonderfully put.

It was obvious from his first few games what type of player Grimes was. Never ever good enough because without a work ethic you might as well stay in bed. It was suggested on a few occasions on this forum that he was misunderstood and on a different wavelength to his team mates, in fact some even said the team should be built around him.
That's why none of us should take ourselves too seriously when we post our opinions,we are all as bad as each other from time to time.( These comments are not aimed directly at you Chaff). The word I would use to describe Grimes is "Wussy".

Haworth and Grimes in the same team again would be ace.

I was a well documented supporter of Grimes. It was clear he had the skill, which made it easy to look past certain parts of his game, but as time went on it became more and more obvious if the ball wasn't played to within 6 inches of his boot he wasn't interested, and as such he is working his way quickly down the football league pyramid. A sad waste of true skill, basking in the glory of a dozen goals at a relegated team.

Life is a game of fate.

bury v Cheltenham on the opening day could be one big stropfest, especially if Cheltenham win.

Bad memories, the shame is that they all had the basic tools to succeed but attitude wise they where very sadly lacking.

Tutte is possibly the most miserable looking lad I have clapped eyes on,which is sad when you think he is getting paid to play football.
