Apologies if I've missed it posted elsewhere but it got that dark without floodlights, I was expecting a call of "next goal wins".

Do they not work yet? Teething problems?

If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor

The Sandy Lane's nod to the Wyatt Family was amusing.

More importantly, was the skip still there?

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

I wonder if they weren't put on because the work hasn't been finished

For about 75 minutes, most of us in the TDS were blinded by the sun. When the sun dropped and it clouded over, there was an issue with the light but I suspect the club didn't want to fire up the bulbs for the sake of 10 minutes or so.

It will have been at the referee's discretion.

Obviously he didn't want them on because that would have helped us win and he was biased, so there.

If they don't come on again we should all point our phone torches at the pitch to drop a hint

only three of the four floodlights towers had the new lights (ten)

the one at the corner of Sandy Lane/Wilbutts still had the old lights (twelve)

the towers at the Sandy Lane end, with the phone masts on them, can only be shut down with the agreement of the phone companies - which is not as simple as it sounds - and no doubt the recent bad weather caused a few problems

hopefully everything will be sorted for the PNE game in a few weeks

They were on Tuesday evening so must have been doing final testing after finishing the final tower.

The referee decides whether to use the lights or not & he obviously didn't think it was worth it for the final ten minutes or so where it was getting a little on the dark side.

Forza Nerazzurri

According to the commentary that day, Hill was badgering the fourth official to have them put on, but - it seemed - the ref didn't want them on. Garlick wanted them on too (probably wanted to see the new toy in action!).
