... is Dale's record against Swindon worse than our record against all other L1 clubs? Of the 14 league matches between the two, 8 ended in defeat and 6 in draws. There was one FA Cup match too, at Spotland in 1912, which Swindon won 2-0.

Still, a first Dale win must come some time ...

Thanks for that - fascinating, and surprising to see how well Dale have done vs Coventry.

Our record v Coventry is actually quite a well-known fact among students of Dale history ... well, among boring stattos like me, anyway!

Surely you can't go from fascinating to boring in the space of two posts?

You can do anything if you put your mind to it.

Again, the team we face next are without their captain after being sent off. Defender Nathan Thompson was sent off against Yeovil yesterday for a second yellow offence.

Gary Johnson said before the match that Swindon play a game where the keeper is sometimes their best player as far as an outfield player is concerned !! Sounds a bit disrespectful but meaning he distributes the ball well so Yeovil had to close them down.

I think we will give them a game tonight, but let's not get our expectations too high, though you can get excited.

Over 50 years of playing Swindon - not every season of course - and tonight brings Dale's first ever win!
