What I find odd at Blackpool is how everything seems to have changed in the past few months. The Oystons have been there for years but it seems only recently that things have gone downhill so rapidly. Whilst they've never splashed the cash, that prudence has seen them reach the top flight and transform the stadium. On the basis that the money was being 'repaid' , the parachute payment was 'trousered' as I remember.
Nothing wrong with that if it was genuinely owed, but at the cost of failing to invest in the team, they find they now find themselves in a predicament from which it will be difficult to recover, if ever.
Another joke club in rapid decline, where the Chairman absolves himself from all blame and insists he can get it right but persistently fails to see the real problem. |  |
