On Tuesday against Northampton, Dawson was given the job to mark Ivan Toney. We all saw how high Ivan can leap when he scored against Cambridge the previous Friday night. After 5 minutes of play he leaps again to head the ball into the back of our net - unchallenged. The main point however, is that even if Dawson had challenged him I still think he would have scored because Dawson can't leap that high. Fast forward to yesterday. With Doncaster's second goal, we had switched off. A short corner by them was defended by only one of our players. Mistake one. Then who was covering Robinson for the cross at the near-side...Dawson. He's too short for that job. Result, an easy second goal. Hilly said that he assigned a marker for the man coming on, but who was he? For all our hard work and endeavour, we have put it on a plate for our opposition in the last two matches as far as putting the ball in the back of the net is concerned. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30112947 | |
