PP say it will be either

1st Choice Terry Butcher
2nd Choice Stuart McCall
3rd Choice Brain Landrup

Top 3 to replace Ally

I'm thinking outside the box and going for Darren Ferguson it'll fit him and his ego perfectly

Not quite gone just yet

What's been strange is the decline in Rangers attendances from 40000+ in the bottom tier to just above 30000+ in the championship, and on course for a third successive promotion back to the premiership

Bit of a change of tack, suggestion is rangers probably can't afford his pay off.

McCoist is playing a canny game. If they accept his resignation he is due 12 months pay. If they don't accept his resignation he is due another 12 months on his 'rolling contract'.

Win/Win.

Don't place too much trust in the published attendances...

"Rangers claimed around 28,000 fans turned out for last Saturday's 1-0 win over Cowdenbeath - only for chairman David Somers to later admit the real figure was 9,000 fewer."

Are they doing the 'count all the season tickets' if they are there or not game?

Rangers have refused to accept McCoist's resignation so he begins a new 12 month contract.

Rumours from Scotland are that they can't afford to pay him off even if they wanted to do.

Watch out, PaleGer will be along soon to argue about that.

How is the Rangers situation still embroiled in boardroom controversy? Genuinely can't understand that.

How is it football exists where they can get away without being accountable to fans?

The fans are the last thing modern day football cares about, it`s all about corporates and ridiculous wages/salaries. Blame the F.A. and we all know what FA also stands for, just add the words "responsibility for the dire state the game is in".

Really, you can't understand it? Have a look how many board members there have been since 2011 and that would give you a clue, plus number of owners, purported owners, consortium bidders for ownership etc. Its pretty much a revolving door.

Oh and there are two boards, which one were you referring to? Rangers International Football Club plc or The Rangers Football Club Limited? No-one is around long enough to be held accountable!

There is no CEO, no CFO ...it really is funny, if becoming a little tiresome.

McCoist has a 12-month rolling contract and that length of notice must be served unless severence is agreed

Mike Ashley (Newcastle FC owner) has loaned Rangers million of pounds

Ashley effectively took control of Rangers when the board confirmed it had accepted his offer of a £2m emergency loan facility, raising doubts over McCoist’s future following the departures of chief executive Wallace and former finance director Philip Nash.

Ashley owns 8.92% of Rangers and is prohibited from increasing his stake above 10% having signed an agreement with the Scottish Football Association three years ago. Having demanded the removal of Wallace and Nash from the board, Ashley will appoint their replacements as a condition of the loan and has two of the club’s assets, the Albion car park next to Ibrox stadium plus the Edmiston House facility, as security. The Sports Direct founder already holds the naming rights to the stadium and runs the club’s retail division

Ashley loaned £2m to Rangers in October to increase his stake. His man Derek Llambias is on the board as a non-exec Director.

Norman Crighton of Laxey Partners (majority shareholders with 16%) resigned as a non-exec Director on Wednesday.

What price Ashley will loan the funds to pay off McCoist and bring in Dennis Wise?
